-Madeline's P.O.V.-
"God, it took you guys long enough!" Bri says, dramatically says. "Some people are hungry!" Jenny continues. "Well, we wanted to be fashionably late, doll face." I say with a wink. I hear Heather smirk after I say that. "Why didn't you guys go ahead and order?" Derek asks. "Because we're.. good friends?" Bri says making it sound more like a question than statement. We all grab our food since Scott's Uncle recently had the food heated up, and we pushed two tables together to where seven people could sit. "So, what are we doing after this?" I ask. "I dunno." Heather replies. "Hey, we should have a girl's night at my house tonight!" Jenny says, as Derek and Alex make a face since they can't come. I slightly giggle at their facial expressions. "It's okay guys, you all can have your 'guys night'," Jenny finishes while letting out a small chuckle.

"You're house is amazing!" I say in shock. Jenny's house is a beige color with two levels and one balcony leading out at the top from a room(Picture on side). "Haha, you get pretty used to it." After we dropped the guys off, we went by and got some ice cream on the way to Jenny's house. Once Heather pulls into the driveway, we all unbuckle and walk in. All three of us are welcomed to a cream colored living area with two chairs in front of a fairly large window leading out to a patio with a large inground pool. There's a charcoal colored fireplace right in the middle of the wall that's connected to the living area. I convert my gaze to the large kitchen; it has cabinets on top of each other in about four sets going around the kitchen. Jenny chuckles and says, "Hah.Don't worry. My dad's a chef; that's why we have a lot of cooking appliances." I make an 'o' shape with my mouth in understanding.
Heather's admiring Jenny's inground pool, until she glances up when Jenny says, "Heather, if you wanna go swimmin' that bad, we'll go swimming." I smirk, as I slowly make my way around her home and up the stairs to her bedroom. "Oh. My. God." "Haha, yep. I love my room too." Her room is a light shade of pink, along with a gorgeous view of the sunset from her balcony. She has one small day couch with a bookshelf attached underneath it. Pretty much, everything is some sort of pink. "Kay! LET US GO SWIM!" Heather yells. I let out a small chuckle as I grab my bikini from my overnight bag I got after we finished our icecream. Once I make my way across the hallway to the bathroom, I strip from my clothing and slip on my navy blue and white stripped bikini. Jenny and Heather already have theirs on, so we hurry out onto the patio connecting to the pool.
"CANNONBALL!" Jenny screams as she jumps into the water, and Heather jumps off the diving board into the deep end. "C'mon Madei!" "Eh.." I stick part of my foot into the water and realize it's freezing cold. "No! That's flipping cold!" "You get used to it." Heather smirks. I make my way over to the diving board and climb up. Standing at the edge of the board, I finally get up the nerve and jump off while doing two front flips in the air. "Girl's got skilllll." "Why thank you my darling" I say winking at Heather. We swim for a little while longer until I hear my iPhone buzzing from a text message. It was a number I haven't seen before.
'Hey, what's up? It's Alex. Heather gave me your number. I had a question about the math homework.'
'Oh! Hey. :) Aren't you busy with the guys? Haha.'
'Uh.. yeah.. lol. Derek wants to know if all of us can come by and hang with you all.'
"Jenny! Alex wants to know if all of them can hang over here for a bit." "Uhm? Since when did you have Alex Simth's phone number?" I shrug the thought of her asking that into the back of my mind and get back on topic. "Forget about that! Can they?" "Sure."
'Yeah! Jenny said you all could. See you soon?'
'Yeahh.'
With that, I press the lock button on my phone and sit on the lounge chairs to tan. After about thirty decent minutes of trying to tan, I hear a loud commotion coming from the inside. "PARTYYYYY!" Alex, Derek, and Scott come ramming outside pushing each other out of the way. "good lord! Think y'all could be any louder?" Heather yells. Derek makes a pathetic pouty face and continues on to jump into the water. I turn my body around to where I was laying on my back to tan my front. My sunglasses slowly darkened as a figure blocked my sunlight. "Hey!" I protest. "Oh, I'm sorry. Were you tanning?'' Someone smirks. "Shut up Scott." He continues to chuckle as he sets his beach bag down beside the chair I was laying in.
I lift my sunglasses away from my face, reviling five teenagers in a humongous pool. I force myself to get up and go inside for a bit, until someone, once again, throws me over their shoulder carrying me towards water. "Someone's not going to stay dry are they?" I finally recognize the voice and realize that it's Derek. "Derek! Put.. Me.. Down!" I say while making a weak attempt at hitting his bare back. "No! You need water!" Oh, so I'm a mermaid?" "Mermaid's don't exist stupid. You're an underwater unicorn." I'm thinking about how he said I was the stupid one until I felt the cold rush of water hit my exposed skin.
I pop my head up out of the water and send a glare Derek's way. He trys to hurry to get out of the water, knowing I'm right behind him about to kill him. "NOOOO!" He says while running with me ten feet behind him. Eventually, I stop running since I'm out of breath and bend down, putting my hands on my knees. "Hah! Loser." Derek smirks. Smart ass. I look around until my eyes rest on Alex. When he looks up at me, he has a sense of anger and hurt in his eyes; kind of like he was jealous...
