-Madeline's P.O.V.-
His smooth lips pressed against mine in perfect sync.
Everything was perfect.
Until the back door opened revealing Derek.
Words can't describe the thought going through my head right now. The heat in my cheeks rise quickly as Derek approaches us. I cannot force myself to make eye contact with the amazing being in front of me who's rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Well, well, well," Derek smirks, sweeping his now dry hair to one side. I open my mouth to say something, but nothing comes out. Before he can continue any futher, I make my way up the steps in the pool and to the double sliding doors, as quickly as possible.
I didn't have time to actually grab my towel; being embarrased is bad enough, but with two guys that you just met a week ago? Yeah, that doesn't work for me. I fumble with the door handle, trying to slide one of the doors open. I finally pull as hard as I can until one slides open, lunging me forward into the kitchen and living room area.
"Maddy?" Heather asks, concerned. I don't know where I'm going, but I run up the stairs hoping the next door will be Jenny's room.
Please be Jenny's room, please be Jenny's room.
The door clicks as I turn the handle, and lucky for me, it was her room. My bag was half open, so I open it all the way, getting out some Paul Frank pajama shorts, and a white cami, along with my undergarments. Making sure to lock the bedroom door, I strip from my bathing suit, and slide on my pajamas.
"Maddy? Are you ok? Maddy, it's me; Jenny."
I walk over to the door, unlocking it, as Heather and Jenny barge in. So much for it just being Jenny.
"What happened?" Was the first thing Heather asked. "M-me and Alex. . ." I was still in shock from everything that happened and I couldn't fully approach the right words. "Well? You and Alex what?" Jenny says with sternness, along with crossing her arms over her chest.
"We. . . we k-kissed." 3. . .2. . . 1. . .
"WHAT?!"
I'm so not going to repeat myself.
"You kissed? As in, lip to lip contact?" Jenny says. "Well, how else do two people kiss?" I ask with a smarteleik tone. "Shut up," she huffed.
"Look, just calm down. It's fine. I'm going to stay up here and start to go to sleep, and Jenny is going to make some snacks down in the kitchen. Just go downstairs and put a movie in." Heather soothes.
I nod and grab my stuffed monkey from on top of my bag. Yes. I sleep with a stuffed monkey. I make my way downstairs and head towards Jenny's huge flat screen perched on the wall in front of me. She has all of the great movies.
Titanic, The Notebook, Dear John, Pitch Perfect, Finding Nemo, The Last Song, Here Comes The Boom, Magic Mike, The Hunger Games, and Alice in Wonderland. That was some of the main ones that caught my eye, but I really wanted to watch Here Comes the Boom.
I pop the disk out of its case and plop it into the DVD player. I hear Jenny coming down the stairs and starts to make her way into the pantry. "Hey, what movie?" "Here Comes the Boom," I say with a smile. "I love that movie!" The three couches that surrounds the television is almost in a square like form. Each one has two thick blankets that's folded and laying on the back.
The popcorn just started popping in the microwave, so I take a seat on the couch that's directly in front of the flat screen. Eventually, I'm wrapped up in the purple, fuzzy blanket that was perched on the back of it.
The movie advertises the trailers for new movies, that are now out. Finally, the movie pops up the main screen with all of the options, and I hear footsteps coming from the kitchen. Jenny must've gotten everything, so she sits on the couch to my left, and throws me some candy bars.
"This movie is hilarious," She says while munching on some buttery popcorn. I nod in agreement, opening a KitKat.
"So... Have you guys talked?"
I knew Exactly what she was talking about; Alex.
"No."
He's still outside talking with Derek on the patio. I know I should go out there, but I don't have the guts too.
"Oh.. Well, you should," she gives me a small smile.
The sliding doors open, and Jenny and I turn our heads to see the mystery person.
It was Derek. He motioned me to come over towards him.
"Alex told me he didn't mean to do what he did," he explains.
So in other words, he didn't purposly mean to kiss me? Okay then.. We just left the conversation at that, and Derek sat down on the couch to my left. I didn't get to watch much of the movie since I fell asleep around 30 minutes into it.
-Alex's P.O.V.-
I finally stand up from the lounge chair outside since it was starting to rain a bit. When I went inside, everyone was asleep, then again I was welcomed to two people asleep in the living room. Derek was spralled out on the couch; arm thrown over the back side of the couch, and other arm on the floor, along with he mouth wide open. That's Derek for you.
I walked over to the next person on the other couch and finnaly noticed it was Maddy. She was curled up under the purple blakent. Pretty much, you could only see part of her hair and the top half of her head. I smirked as she mumbled something in her sleep and started giggling. Before I made my way to the other couch to sleep, I planted a tiny kiss on to her forhead, and as if right on cue, she smiled in her sleep.
