-Derek's P.O.V.-
Something's up with Alex. He's been acting unusual ever since we came to Jenny's. I notice he is sitting alone on one of the lounge chairs beside the pool.
"Hey man." He looks up at me, sequencing his eyes under his sunglasses. "Hey." He shuffles around in the chair, while I take a seat on the other lounge chair beside him. "You okay, man?" He looks at me like I killed someone; the pain in his eyes show, along with anger. His shoots death daggers my way, along with me quickly looking away to avoid the awkwardness that is happening. "Yeah." I look back over at him, "What?" "I said, yeah. I'm fine. OK?" I shrug just letting the situation drop knowing if I continue, he'll go into his 'pissed' mode.
You see, Alex has been pretty calm ever since three months ago. He was sent to a juvenile center because he did some pretty bad things, and I prefer not to go into much detail. . . The girls are usually all over him at school, but he can never keep one long enough to actually see if she's 'the one' because he always blows his top.
I walk back over to the side of the pool, where I see Jenny, Madei, and Heather tanning. "Heyy," I say to no one in particular. "Hey loser," A voice which appears to be Madei's says. I smirk and once again throw her over my shoulder and lead her towards the diving board. "WHAT GREAT FRIENDS YOU ARE, GUYS!" She yells over my shoulder at Heather and Jenny, who just appear to be laughing their asses off.
When I get to the edge of the diving board, I set Madei down and hold her by her shoulders."Derek. . . please don't throw me in. . . it's just so cold. . ." She pulls off the original puppy dog face and I sigh, giving in. "Fine." We both sit at the edge of the pool swinging our feet around in the water. I turn my head and notice that Jenny's behind Madei, who's looking at me with a confused look on her face. "What? Is something on my face?" I smirk and nod my head no. Jenny puts her finger to her lips, giving me the hint to not say anything. What is she waiting for? When is she going to push her-- there she went. . .
Madei just gave up with the whole getting in and out of the pool idea, so eventually Jenny, Heather, Scott, and I go inside for a movie.
-Madeline's P.O.V.-
Alex and I are the only ones left in the pool, since the others decided to go in. I sit on the bottom step of Jenny's pool, swaying my feet around slowly in the water. "Hey." The voice from across the pool said as it came into closer hearing. Looking up, I now realize how toned Alex's body really is. . . I must've been drooling or something since he smirked and said, "Like the veiw?" My cheeks get extremely hot, so I look down at the water.
The water moves around me, sensing that someone's coming towards me at a slow pace. "Madei. . ." His voice is calming, with a hint of nervousness. My eyes meet up with his hazel, brown eyes. When I am about to speak, the side of my face is cupped with his fairly large hand. My heart rate races faster, and I feel the butterflies grow larger. He looks at me one last time before slamming his smooth lips onto mine- until the patio door opens. . .
