26- Losing It

After Dumbledore fled his office, the Ministry officials searched everywhere for him, but could find no trace of where he'd disappeared to.
Once Fudge called off the search, McGonagall escourted Harry, Celia and Marietta back to their towers, going to Gryffindor first, before heading to Ravenclaw.
When they reached the tower, the door asked the girls a question as it always did.
"Name something that is easily broken" said the door.
"Trust" answered Celia, as she glared at Marietta, who was yet to stop crying.
"Hmm, good answer" replied the door, before swinging open, allowing the girls inside.

Once they were safely inside their dormitory, and away from any teachers, Celia slammed the door shut behind them, and prepared to release all her anger onto Marietta.
"What happened?" Questioned Cho, as she approached them.
"Why don't you show them what happens to dirty little sneaks" spat Celia.
Marietta shook her head, and continued hiding her face with her hands.
Celia charged at her and pulled her hands down, so that everyone could see the words SNEAK, written in pimples across Marietta's face.
As everyone gasped, Celia released Marietta, allowing her to recover her face.

"How did that happen?" Asked Katia.
"I'll tell you how it happened. Our roommate here, snitched on us to Umbridge" announced Celia.
"What about?" Questioned Katia, who didn't know about the DA.
Celia was too angry to explain things to Katia and Arabella, so she continued yelling at Marietta.
"How could you? How could you betray us like?" Demanded Celia.
"I didn't mean to" sobbed Marietta.
"I know me and you haven't always been the best of friends, but it's not just me you betrayed, it's Cho as well, not to mention the 30 or so other people in the DA" reminded Celia.

"You told Umbridge about the DA?" Cho asked softly.
"I was just trying to do the right thing" insisted Marietta.
"The right thing! How is telling Umbridge about the DA, the right thing? Do you realise what you've done? Dumbledore has been forced to flee the school, so now we are stuck with Umbridge as Headteacher. There will be no one to protect us from her now" snapped Celia.
"I didn't mean for this to happen!" cried Marietta angrily, as she lowered her hands to face Celia.

"Didn't you? What did you think was going to happen when you revealed the truth about the DA? Did you think you would be rewarded and given an Order of Merlin? You must have known that Harry would be punished for starting the DA. After everything Harry has been through and sacrificed for us, how could you turn you back on him?" Questioned Celia.
"I didn't want to break the rules anymore" admitted Marietta.
"Then you could have stopped coming to meetings. You didn't have to betray us all, just because you didn't want to be a part of it anymore" replied Celia.
"Look, I'm sorry O.K. I wish I hadn't done it, but I can't take it back now".

"No, you can't. You've betrayed us all, to try and save your own skin. You're a cowardly little Sneak! And tomorrow everyone will be able to see it, because there's no hiding what's on your face!" Spat Celia, causing Marietta to cover her face once more.
"Alright, I think you should take it down a notch" informed Cho.
"Why aren't you as mad as I am? She turned you in too, her best friend. And since you're currently dating Harry, don't you want to protect him, and keep him away from Umbridge?" Questioned Celia.
"Marietta made a mistake. And we all make mistakes. Besides, it's partly my fault because I made her come to the meetings with me"
"This is no one's fault but her's".

"Look, what's the big deal, we all got away didn't we?" Asked Cho.
"Not all of us, me and Harry were caught by Draco. And that awful Pansy Parkinson went into the Room of Requirement and found the parchment that we all signed with our names. So the Ministry know exactly who was involved in Dumbledore's Army. You mark my words, we are all going to be in big trouble tomorrow, when she rounds us all up for a group punishment" admitted Celia.
"Maybe you guys won't get into trouble, because Dumbledore took responsibility for everything" suggested Marietta.

"What kind of happy fantasy world are you living in? Umbridge doesn't need a reason to punish me and Harry, because she hates us. She scarred us both for life, just for telling everyone the truth about my brother's murder. And now she has evidence that we broke numerous Ministry decrees, so she's not going to let us get away with that. Maybe the rest of the DA will be alright, but me and Harry won't be, because we are the ones she likes to punish the most. And now Dumbledore is gone, no one will protect us from her insane punishments. You haven't been forced to write with her evil quill, so you don't know how much it hurts. Now that she is Head, there will be no stopping her. And when I'm in pain tomorrow, using that quill, I will have you to blame, you pathetic little sneak!" Shouted Celia.

"Alright, that's enough. Celia, you've made your point clear. But shouting at Marietta isn't going to make things any better" insisted Cho.
"No, you're right. There's only so many names I can call her, as I'm only one person. But I can't wait to hear what everyone calls you behind you back tomorrow. For once, it won't be me who gets whispered about, it will be you. And when everyone in the school, sees your face and learns that you are the reason we are stuck with Umbridge, they will tear you apart" smiled Celia.
Marietta began crying loudly and Cho had to place her arm around her, to comfort her.

"Why don't I take you down to Madam Pomfrey, and see if she can remove the pimples?" Suggested Cho.
"O.K" sniffed Marietta, as the pair began to head towards the door.
"Good luck with that. Hermione is the best witch in the school, so I don't think it will be easy to undo one of her hexes. And I hope you get scarred for life, just like me" snapped Celia.
"You just don't know when to quit, do you?" Sighed Cho, before pushing open the door and taking Marietta down to the hospital wing.
