Chapter 3: The Dinner

Mikaelson's POV:
It's the next day and the Mikaelsons were all nervous about the dinner, and how Scarlette's kids will react. They were all going to go into town first to just have family time and hang out before dinner. They all got into the car and started on their way to the town square. They arrived and got out of the car, and were stood talking. They hear yelling and look towards the noise.
Liam- *yells* I swear you guys are going to be the end of me!
Hunter- *laughs* chill Li!
Liam- you know mom and the twins are stressed out enough already, we don't need to add to that
Amelia- *giggles* Li just get us ice cream and we won' tell mom
Lilianna- *gasps* I want ice cream!
Layla- *finally picks her head out of her book* I'm not sure it's a great idea to give Lili ice cream...
Liam- Layla is right, mama would kill me, Josh probably would too
Hunter- Live a little Liam!
Liam- and you *points to Hunter* are still grounded
*Hunter stick his tongue out at Liam*
Liam- listen we came to get apple juice for Lili, and mom said to take Lili and Mel to the park, that's all okay?
Hunter- *groans* fine, buzzkill
Hunter, Layla, and Liam stay back and watch Amelia and Lilianna play
Layla- I do have a question...
Liam- what?
Layla- Do you think Mom and Ric are acting weird lately?
Hunter- kinda, why?
Layla- I don't know it seems like she is scared, and she's always on the phone with Aunt Care
Hunter- listen...her ex just came back to town and brought all these people who hurt mom with him, and as much as she tries to hide it, she's upset.
Liam- Hunter is right, Josh and I heard her crying in her room last night, so let's just make it easy on her. Also, Dad's death anniversary is coming up, so just try not to cause her any more stress
The Mikaelson's listen in, and their hearts drop hearing that Scarlette is hurting.
They then see 2 other girls and a guy come up to Scarlettes kids...
Liam- go away Penelope, Bria, and Chase
Penelope- *she says sarcastically* aww, don't be mean Liam...
Hunter- *he says cockily* what's wrong Penelope sad Josie doesn't want you
*Kol snickers*
Penelope- Josie doesn't realize how to live out of Lizzie's shadow, and soon she will realize you guys aren't worth the trouble
Layla- doubt it, seeing as though my mom taught us family means everything, without it we're nothing, is that something you can't comprehend?
Bria- how's Josh?
Chase- and Aurora?
Hunter- they are fine without you two!
Bria- you better be careful with who you are talking about little boy
Chase- *he says tauntingly* yeah wouldn't want the whole school knowing about your anger issues, or that you triggered your curse?
Liam- we did it to protect our family!
Bria- well who will they believe the headmistresses kids, who get everything, or the kids who are misunderstood?
*Hunter and Liam are losing control so their claws come out*
*Hope sees this and decides to help the Salvatores out, so she uses her magic and gives the three bullies a headache while walking over to the group, with her family trailing behind her*
Hope- leave my cousins alone! *she throws her arm out which sends the three running away in pain*
*Liam and Hunter are still having trouble controlling their anger so they are trying to breathe to relax*
Freya- are they okay? *she asks Layla*
Layla- yeah, one second
*she turns and spots the two youngest*
Layla- *yells* Meils, Lili! Come here!
The two little girls sprint to Layla and Layla points to Hunter and Liam
Klaus- love are you sure that's the best idea?
Layla- trust me, this happens often
*Lili runs Hunter and Amelia runs to Liam, and they jump into their arms and the boys immediately calm down and rub their noses into the little one's neck, like a wolf*
Rebekah- how did they do that?
Layla- *sighs* you are Rebekah right?
Rebekah- *nods* Yeah, why?
Layla- well I'm Layla, pretty sure I'm named after you...anyway when we trigger our curse we have anchors in our families and anchors outside our family, so basically two people who can calm us down when our wolf side becomes dormant. However, in our family, any of the siblings can calm each other down
Klaus- how?
Layla- pretty sure it has to do with my grandparents on my mom's side, not sure how much my mom wants people to know, about her bio-parents, but my mom has many anchors too
*Lili notices Kol and she jumps into his arms*
Lilianna- Uncle Kol! *she hugs him*
Kol- *chuckles* hey princess
Hunter- *he says sarcastically* hi Uncle Kol, Aunt Davina, the family who hurt my mom
*Everyone besides Kol and Davina looks shocked at his words*
Liam- *scolds* Hunter!
Hunter- *rolls his eyes* what, brother?
Liam- *smacks him on the head* be nice!
Elijah- it's quite alright
*Amelia has her head down and walks to Davina, and makes hands to be picked up, so Davina picks her up*
Liam- anyway, um- I'm Liam, *points to each sibling* that's Hunter, Lilianna, and Amelia. And you know Layla
Layla- you guys don't have to introduce yourselves we have seen pictures of you guys
Hunter- *laughs* that sounded creepy Layla
Layla- *blushes* sorry
Nik- *smiles* it's alright love
Hunter- okay listen, we don't like any of you guys, besides uncle Kol and Davina! *he says upset*
Liam- Hunter Damon! *he scolds then turns to the Mikaelsons* sorry about him, we read our dad's journals and um- he misses him, our dad kinda didn't say nice things about you guys...and um he is close to our mom like we all are, he's trying to um- protect her
*turns to Hunter and bends down to his height*
Liam- *says softly* Bub why don't you go take Amelia to the bench over there, and then we can go home once you calmed down
*Hunter looks at Liam with tears in his eyes and trying to breathe normally*
Liam- *kisses his forehead* it's alright, I'm not mad, and mom won't be either, go sit and then you can go home and lay with mom before dinner
*Hunter nods, then goes to Davina and reaches for Amelia, which Davina hands Amelia over and then Hunter and Amelia go to the bench and Amelia sits on Hunter's lap*
*Liam turns to Hope*
Liam- thank you for your help, Hope. Chase, Penelope, and Bria are angry because our siblings broke up with them, they tend to blame it on our family dynamic
Hope- no problem, you guys are basically my cousins so...
Liam- *smiles* I'll um- tell Lizzie to go easy on you since I know she can be a lot
Layla- yeah I think Josie and Aurora will like you
Hope- *smiles* thanks
Liam- well listen we have to go and get Lili apple juice and then go home before mom has a heart attack, that we are gone for so long. But see you guys at dinner, it was nice to meet you, and um- thanks again for the help
Layla- ill go get Hunter and Meils, bye guys!
Liam- come on Lili we have to go get your juice and see mom
Lili- *gasps* mommy?!
*that makes all the Mikaelsons smile*
Liam- yeah crazy come on
*Lili jumps down from Kols arms and runs to Liam, who picks her up*
Lili- bye uncle Kol, aunt Davina, and mommy's friends!
Liam- bye again
*they walk away and the Mikaelsons turn toward each other*
Klaus- *smiles fondly* those kids are something else
Elijah- can't disagree with you there brother...
