chapter five: unneeded

Scarlette's POV:
I wake up feeling a weight on my chest and I open my eyes to see Lilli on my chest and the rest of my children on my bed asleep. Suddenly my mind flashes to last night and I remember the fight with Elijah and me losing control. I sigh heavily and slowly get out of bed and place Lilli where I was and kiss her forehead, and repeat that with the rest of my kids. I start to get ready for the day and once I am finished I head to the kitchen to start cooking. As I walk past Kol's room in my house I see the door open and he and Davina had stayed the night. I shut the door quietly and start a big breakfast for my family. I am so caught up in my head I don't notice Kol and Davina in front of me, twenty minutes later trying to gain my attention.
Scarlette- good morning!
Kol- good morning Scar, how are you feeling?
Scarlette- *sighs* I am fine, yesterday was stupid, I just lost control and I apologize I should have been smarter
Davina- Scar you are allowed to have emotions, you need to go easier on yourself. What Elijah said was completely wrong and uncalled for, you had every right to get angry.
Kol- Davina is right Scar, you do everything for everyone else you need to relax and let yourself have some credit for all you do. We will always be there for you no matter what.
Scarlette- *hugs Kol, then Davina* thank you guys, I couldn't imagine my life without you thank you for everything you do for me and the kids
Kol- always Scar
Davina- should we tell her Kol?
Scarlette- tell me what?
Kol- Davina and I have decided to move to mystic falls permanently
Scarlette- wait! Really?!
Davina- we can't have children and the only way we are fulfilled with them are here with yours. they are how we heal, as selfish as that sounds
Scarlette- *grabs her hands* hey that is perfectly fine. my children love you both and I am happy they help and I genuinely understand, that's how I go through Stefan's death because of my children
Kol- then it's settled we are staying
I hug both of them and head back to cooking
suddenly I hear a bunch of feet running and see all my kids out of breath in front of me in the kitchen
Josie- momma!
Liam- where did you go we got scared.
Scarlette- I'm sorry my babies I just came down to cook some food for all of us
*All the kids run into my arms and I smile kissing each of them on the head*
Scarlette- alright darlings let's sit and eat
we sit and eat with my kids talking about their activities and friends to Kol and Davina and I smile at how much they love their aunt and uncle.
Scarlette- okay after we eat I need to head to school so I will be taking the littles with me, I expect everyone to be at school on time, so please start getting ready 
Josh- don't worry momma we will be there on time ill make sure
*he comes and kisses me on the forehead and hugs me*
Josh- don't stress
Scarlette- thank you, sweetheart. Amelia, would you like to come to school with me now or wait?
Amelia- with you, please
Scarlette- alright let's go get you and Lilli ready
I take their hands and lead them into Lilli's room first, I go to her closet pick out a little dress and turn to see the girls on Amelia's IPad and decided this will be easier if I just change them both in here
Scarlette- alright girls, I am going to grab Amelia's clothes then I'll be back to change you two
they nod
I rush to grab a dress for Amelia too cause I think they will look cute and maybe I can grab them later for pictures. I go into Lilli's room and see them in the same spot and I smile. I look at my phone and see it's really late and we need to leave in like five minutes.
Scarlette- come get dressed girls
Lilli- *whines* but momma! we were watching a show!
Scarlette- I know sweetheart but mommy has to get to work so come on and get dressed, please
Amelia immediately gets up and I hand her a dress she starts to change but Lilli looks at me for a while longer
Scarlette- Lillianna please come and change, I need to get to work
Lillianna- I don't want to go to school! I wanna stay with you!
Scarlette- honey I won't ask again please come and change. Maybe I'll take you out to lunch, but I need you to hurry up
Lillianna still doesn't move and I am visibly frustrated at this point and so I go over and dress her myself while she is throwing a fit. I sit her in my lap to try and do her hair but she thrashes and I turn her to face me and sigh.
Scarlette- Lillianna I have been patient with you but you are not listening go stand in the corner until we leave.
Lillianna- *whines and yells* I don't want to! 
I see Josh pop his head into the room now dressed for the day
Josh- what's going on?
Scarlette- Josh take your sister to the living room please and put her in the corner, she needs to calm down in timeout since she doesn't want to listen
Lillianna- no! I just wanna stay home with momma! please, momma!
Scarlette- Lilli I love you so much but I have to work today, we will go out for lunch could you just listen to momma and go calm down in the corner, then I will talk with you 
Lillianna- *stomps her feet and yells* no!
Josh comes forward and I stop him
Scarlette- Josh please do Amelia's hair for me and I will put her in time out
He nods and I pick up Lillianna and bring her to my room so we are alone, and place her in the corner 
Scarlette- Lillianna you will stand in the corner for five minutes since that is your age and calm down, I will come to get you when you are done 
She cries more and turns around to come to me and I shake my head 
Scarlette- I won't say it again Lilli turn around and stay in the corner
She turns and I sigh and get my phone out and step into the hallway, I find Alaric's number and dial it
Alaric- Scar, what's up? Arent you almost here?
Scarlette- Hey Ric, I'm sorry Lilli is having a meltdown so I will be late can you meet the Mikaelsons and show them to Hope's dorm
Alaric- yeah no problem! Are you okay, you sound stressed out
Scarlette- *sighs* yeah I had a rough night and her meltdown isn't necessarily helping 
Alaric- hey relax I can handle this until you get here
Scarlette- thanks Ric, bye
Alaric- bye Scar
I hang up and see Kol coming down the hallway toward me
Kol- why don't I bring Lilli to the school once she's calmed down so you can get to work?
Scarlette- thanks Kol but I don't like leaving the kids during a punishment I'd rather be here to comfort them, Alaric can handle 30 minutes without me
Kol- okay, Vina and I are going to stop by at lunch if that's okay.
Scarlette- *smiles* of course 
Kol- alright bye Scar
Scarlette- *hugs him bye* bye Kol
I look at my phone and see five minutes are up I head into the room and go over to Lilli and bend to her height
Scarlette- Lilli your time is up, you can come to Momma
She immediately rushes to my arms and out her face in my neck calming down
Scarlette- sweetheart momma hates punishing you but you were not listening and it made me late for work
Lillianna- *sniffles* sorry Mommy, just wanted to be with you today
Scarlette- I understand honey but we will spend lunch together and the whole weekend if you'd like but you have school and I have work today 
Lillianna- okay, love you
I smile and hug her tight and kiss her forehead 
Scarlette- I love you to the moon and back princess, let's get you and Melia into the car
I pick her up and head to the living room to see Amelia with her hair done and shoes on and I smile.
Scarlette- thank you for being such a good listener, and helping momma out Amy. Let's go to the car now
She nods and holds my hand. I buckle both her and Lilli in and get into the car and start on my way to the school. 
About 10 minutes later we get to the school and I grab my bag and unbuckle the girls, they skip ahead and Lilli is holding Amelia's hand, I grab my phone and film them a little bit. I put my phone down when they get to my office door and see it slightly open so I push it open and freeze immediately at the tension and who is in the room 
I see the Mikaelsons on one side of my office and Caroline, Damon, Elena, Bonnie, and Enzo on the other with Ric looking like he is trying to diffuse the situation.
Scarlette- *clears my throat and turns to my two daughters behind me* girls can you please go to the football field and find Josh to take you to your classes
they both hesitantly nod noticing the tension in the room and come and hug me 
Lilli- momma can we still go out to lunch?
Scarlette- yes princess but you have to be good for Josh and your teacher
She nods and they both run off, so I stand and sigh
Scarlette- Hope why don't you go look around for a little before class, I'm sure you will run into some of my kids on the way ask them to show you to class, Aurora and the twins are in your first class
Hope nods and walks out of the room
Scarlette- okay now, can someone explain what is happening? *turns to the Mystic Falls group* And why all of you decided to show up?
Caroline- Scar, I called them once I heard they were back
Scarlette- *sighs* listen I appreciate the concern but I have this handled you guys didn't need to stop your lives for me
Damon- Kol called us and told us about yesterday, don't lie to us 
*The Mikaelsons look confused at that information*
Scarlette- *sighs and looks towards the Mikaelson's* Hope's room is on the second-floor room 214, I know Ric already gave her the keys and all, if you have any more questions feel free to reach out. 
They took that as their sign to leave and they all left with Elijah trying to stay behind
Scarlette- Elijsh I really don't have anything to say to you right now
Elijah- Lottie let me expl-
Damon- *steps in front of me* she doesn't want to talk to you so leave
Elijah just nods lightly and leaves
I look down upset at the memories of last night, I see Caroline come in front of me and pull me into a hug. I hug her back tighter and start to cry 
Scarlette- *cries* h-he b-blamed J-josh and a-aurora t-turning o-on m-me! i-i d-didn't me-mean fo-
Caroline- *rubs the back of my head* shh it's not your fault rosie, you had no control over that
Scarlette- *calms down and sniffles* I know I shouldn't have hidden them but I couldn't let them get hurt the way I did
Bonnie- you did what was right for the children Scar, that's most important. That family brings trouble wherever they go, you protected them from that
*I nod*
Damon- don't let him get under your skin, you are the best mom and he's just jealous you moved on
Ric- Scar if I would have known about yesterday, I would have told you to stay home. Is that really why you were late?
Scarlette- *shakes her head* no, Lilli was giving me a hard time about coming, she was having a meltdown about wanting to stay home but I needed to get out of the house and back to work, I'm okay. Yesterday just brought up a lot of the past and I got overwhelmed and my magic took control. 
Elena- hey you are allowed to lose control sometimes, you are the strongest person I know.
Scarlette- *smiles* thanks guys, but you really didn't have to come just for this 
Enzo- we know, but we were all talking and we want the kids to be close to each other and finish growing up here since they didn't get much of that recently. 
Caroline- plus we all miss living in Mystic Falls together
Scarlette- *smiles* did you talk to Kol too?
Damon- no why?
Scarlette- Davina and he decided to stay in Mystic Falls too they told me this morning
Bonnie- aww wait that's so exciting we will all be together
Scarlette- anyway where are the kids?
Elena- they ran off as soon as we got here to find your kids
Scarlette- *laughs* makes sense 
Caroline- so Hope?
Scarlette- *laughs* way to be discrete, she is Klaus' and Hayley's daughter, she's 15, and very sweet so please try and get the children to be nice, I've already warned mine
Elena- I thought Elijah and Hayley were together.
Caroline- Klaus and Hayley only hooked up he told me that much
Scarlette- *sighs* and Elijah told me last night that he and Hayley have nothing going on, anyway, it's almost lunch would you guys like to walk around the campus with me to meet the kids?
Bonnie- sure Scar
We head out and start to walk toward the fields cause most of the kids like to spend time there practicing before lunch. On the way I am stopped by Pietro
Pietro- Mrs. Salvatore!
Elena turns too which causes me to chuckle lightly
Scarlette- *bends to his height* yes little one 
Pietro- guess what today in class I learned how to lift a table!! And Amelia told me that she loved my shoes and I complimented her dress, and she said you picked it out!
Scarlette- *smiles and brushes the child's hair out of his face* that's very cool Pietro, it sounds like your day has been very exciting
Pietro- *nods* yeah! also, Hunter apologized for lying to me, and said that he would teach me more soccer tricks! 
Scarlette- I am very happy to hear that, why don't you come to have lunch with us?
Pietro- can I?
Scarlette- of course, we would love for you to join us! why don't you go grab Amelia and bring her to the football field for me?
Pietro- okay! thank you, Mrs. Salvatore!
He runs off and we continue on our way again
Caroline- he still calls you Salvatore
Scarlette- *sighs* yeah, a lot of students still do. It's hard for the young ones to understand so I don't correct them
Damon- *wraps his arm around my shoulder* hey you are always a Salvatore
Bonnie- he seemed really close to you Scar
Scarlette- that was Pietro, his parents sent him here calling him a monster, they were scared of him, and don't really call him anymore. He's a good kid who just didn't get the best parents who understood he was different. He is good friends with Amelia and tends to be around Hunter a lot too. 
We arrive at the field and see most of the boys playing football together and the older girls in the stands. The girls notice us and run over.

Alexa- Aunt Scarlette!
Leia- Auntie Scar!
They both rush over to me and I hug them both. I step away and hold them at arm's length
Scarlette- look at you girls all grown up. you two are gorgeous
I see my girls with their aunts and uncles
Lizzie- aunt bonnie, aunt Elena! Jo and I learned to siphon objects too!
Josie- yeah we have gotten really good at controlling it!
Bonnie- that's amazing sweethearts 
Elena- we knew you guys would do it!
Aurora- aunt caroline I just made a dress in fashion class for you and mom! 
Caroline- can't wait to see it, Rory! God, you look so much like your mom at this age.
Aurora- I know Uncle Kol told me I scared him this morning cause he thought Mom had time traveled 
We all laugh and the kids finish their greetings meanwhile the boys come over from playing, and Ethan immediately comes to me and gives me a hug
Ethan- hey Aunt Scar!
Scarlette- Hi Ethan! wow look at this height, you got your dad's genes for that.
Ethan- *laughs* I know
Josh and Liam go to Damon and Enzo first and hug them
Damon- how are my nephews doing?
Josh- good uncle d
Liam- yeah I got a 100 on my science fair project
Damon- that's great little man
Scarlette- wait you did li that's great! I know how hard you worked on that! 
I pull him into a quick hug and hear laughter and running so we all turn and see a whole bunch of the littles coming to us, so we laugh. I immediately get bombarded with my nieces making me laugh harder
Ava- Aunt Scar I missed you!
Abigail and Olivia- we did too!
Scarlette- *pulls them all into a hug and kisses their foreheads* well I missed you girls even more! 
Layla- Aunt Caroline! Can you help me decorate my room more later, momma bought me more decorations!
Caroline- of course, sweetie!
Layla- Aunt Elena! aunt bonnie! Can you guys help?
they both nod and hug my daughter and I look to see Hunter already in Damon's arms smiling
Hunter- I even stood up for momma to the Mikaelson's! I listened to what you said!
Liam- and you almost lost control too Hunt
Hunter- Liam! I didn't mean to!
Damon- hey it's okay bud, we all lose control sometimes I am proud that you protected your mom for me
I roll my eyes and the group laughs
Noah- hi Aunt Scar!
Scarlette- wow look at you growing up Noah you look just like your dad!
Noah- he says I look like him while the twins look more like Uncle Stefan!
Everyone freezes to see my reaction, I'm guessing, but I just smile down and kiss his head
Scareltte- well your dad is very right
I see Everleigh in Caroline's arms looking at me and I smile while Caroline comes to me with her.
Caroline- Ev you want to go to Aunt Scar
She nods shyly and I smile
Scarlette- how is my Everleigh doing?
Everleigh- good! I place first in my dance last week! Mommy said she filmed it to show you!
Scarlette- *smiles* I can't wait to see little one
I pass her back to Caroline since she reaches for her and smiles. 
Damon- where is the munchkin?
Scarlette- Kol should be bringing her here now, he texted me and asked if he could pick her up before lunch and bring her to me. So I told him we'd be out here
Just as I finish I see Kol and Davina heading toward us and most of the group's children run to them
Noah- *yells* Uncle Kol!
Ava- Aunt Vina!
Abagail and Olivia- Auntie Davina!
Alexa and Leia- Auntie D!
 I see Kol motion for them to stay quiet and see an asleep Lillianna in his arms. I go towards him motioning that I got her while the kids greet Kol and Davina. Caroline, Bonnie, and Elena come toward me to see Lillianna
Caroline- she's so much bigger since the last time we saw her
Elena- yeah she's gorgeous
Scarlette- yeah she really has Stefan features, more than any other kid, besides Hunter, I think
Bonnie- she also has your nose and lips tho
I smile and nod lightly swaying her to get her to wake up naturally 
Once all the kids calmed down they all were messing around on the field while the parents sat on the bleachers, I was still holding an asleep Lillianna
Scarlette- Kol was she asleep when you guys picked her up?
Kol- yeah they said she fell asleep early and just didn't want to wake up. But she got up last night after I brought you up with the kids.
Davina- Yeah she came down when we were in the living room complaining she couldn't sleep, we gave her milk and that seemed to do the trick
Scarlette- *sighs* that explains why she was a handful this morning. I am going to let her sleep till we get our lunch
Everyone nods and we gather the kids up and walk to the Mystic Grill to have lunch, we go in and get their biggest table, and sit just enjoying the company and talking. I am sitting next to Caroline and Davina with Lillianna still on my lap. I get distracted running my hands through Lillianna's hair to comfort her while she's sleeping. I can't believe this is my last baby, let alone my last one with Stefan, the biggest reminder of him is with me in my children.
Davina- *whispers* Scar, are you okay?
I snap out of my daze and turn to Davina
Scarlette- yeah sorry. 
Davina- what were you thinking about?
Scarlette- just as Lilli is my last baby, and the last thing of Stefan I have left is her and my children
Davina- hey, they are the best things you could have because they are amazing you both did an amazing job raising them
Scarlette- thanks Vina
She smiles to me and Amelia comes to me and Davina places her on her lap since I'm still holding Lilli
Scarlette- hey sweetheart. what's up?
Amelia- could you umm order for me momma?
Scarlette- *smiles* you don't wanna try to order yourself Melis? You have been doing so good
Amelia- *tears up and shakes her head no* could you please do it?
Scarlette- *wipes her tears* of course darling, do you feel an anxiety attack coming on?
Amelia- I don't know, just don't want to order
Scarlette- and you don't have to Amelia, do you know what you want?
Amelia- chicken fingers
Scarlette- alright little one I got it, do you want to stay here or go back to your seat?
Amelia- my seat
Scarlette- *kisses her forehead* okay go ahead, Melis
she runs off and I sigh
Caroline- has her anxiety been bad recently?
Scarlette- not as much as it first was, but I think with all this change and people she just feels uncomfortable
Caroline- you are the best mother I know
Scarlette- hey you are the best mom Care
Caroline- I learned from your little sister
I smile at her and place my head on her shoulder
I see the waiter come around and I order for both Lilli and Amelia now we all just wait for our food
