Climbing on the trampoline, I hurriedly jumped high enough that when I shot off into my fiery spiral I wouldn't set the trampoline on fire. I couldn't breathe, I couldn't think, I just wanted out. I wanted fresh air, and to get back to The Guardians.
I didn't care about heights. I worried about getting out of there. To Jack, to warn him and the rest of them. I closed my eyes and blinked them open, fighting the urge to look down and further terrify myself.
After a very long moment I reached the top and collapsed at the edge. I was dizzy, I still felt like I was hundreds of feet in the air, and I still felt sick.
Talking about sick.
I stumbled into the brush and collapsed on my knees, to shove my hair out of my face before letting out the little that was in my stomach into the snow.
"E-Ellie.." Icy fingers brushed against my neck, pulling my hair out of my face. I shivered, instantly jumping away. I knew it was Jack though, his touch was comforting, even if his hands were shaking and I could just barely hear him pant over the wind.
After the gagging feeling in my stomach faded away the icy cold air started to make me feel better, I sat back slightly and wiped my mouth with my bare hand, then with trouble set my hand on fire, burning away the bile.
I looked over my shoulder to Jack, who was staring at me worriedly with his watery blue eyes. He was unnaturally white, with blood dripping slowly down his forehead. His nose must've been broken, with blood dripping down his pale lips.
"Jack!" I squeaked, my forehead falling to land on his chest. His arms left my hair and wrapped around me. "We n-need to get o-out of here."
"I-I can't fly," he shouted over the wind. "I..I lost my staff. We can find it when the storm passes."
I nodded numbly. I soon realized I couldn't stand, so with his help he lifted me up and we wandered through the frost covered trees and the fog, walking against the wind that was growing stronger. After a while, it started to snow which made it much harder to see where we were going. We trudged through the blinding snow till we came face to face with a rocky mountain covered in snow. As we walked the edge we came across a cave to find shelter, and Jack almost had to carry me in. The rock, it reminded me too much of their lair I didn't want to go in.
Once we were deep enough in the cave I nimbly lit the stray twigs that littered the floor. Jack left me to get real wood, how I didn't know.
I huddled around my little pile, trying my best to take what heat I could from the burning twigs. Jack knew I needed something to keep me warm, knowing he was no help.
I grumbled a few curse words under my breath, and I let myself go. I stuck my hands into the little fire and let the flames grow slightly. The flames raked up my arms and turned my numb hands warm again. It still wasn't enough to warm me completely.
Moments later Jack came in with two armfuls of decent sized chunks of wood littered with thin branches. After stripping them and getting a few of them on the fire, the flames grew to a decent size to keep me in particular warm.
"Are you alright?" Jack asked softly, sitting at the opposite side of the fire.
Why not be honest? I shook my head. I really wasn't.
"Are you? J-Jack your nose is b-broken open and y-your forehead--"
"Shh.. Ellie, I'm okay. I can barely feel it, I stopped bleeding anyway."
I just curled my legs to my chest. I wasn't coherent enough to argue, my head was throbbing and all my limbs still felt icy. I just watched him over the ridge of my knees. He had his knees up to, his arms draped over then tiredly. Now, the blood had dripped down the side of his face but dried, the blood at his nose and lips smudged like he tried wiping it away.
"What happened?" he spoke softly, his voice turning deep over the crackle of the fire between us.
"We n-need to get b-back to the rest of the Guardians," I stuttered out softly. "Thats all t-that matters." I dipped my limbs back into the fire. I need to stop my teeth from chattering.
"Why? Ellie what happened?" He asked, watching me bathe in the flames.
"My mom.. She's crazy. She wants to take my dad, you, and the rest of the Guardians and take over our jobs." I forced myself not to stutter, as the heat seeped into my bones. I didn't let the fire get past my arms though, I wanted to be able to put myself out if I had to. "I wanted to warn you guys, I.. I dont think I could stand seeing any of you get hurt.."
His eyes softened more than they already were at my words. "Dont worry, we'll find my staff in the morning and come find them. They're probably looking for us anyway, It won't be too hard."
I groaned softly. The thought of the Guardians and my dad out there, in the storm, looking for us. What if my mom and Eva is out there too, looking for me?
"Oh jeez, what do we do?" I mumbled softly, retracting from the fire. My arms went out, as I wrapped my arms around my legs. I closed my eyes. I could just imagine my dad reeking havoc looking for me.
I heard him shuffle over. He must've sat next to me, making me set my cheek on my knees as I looked over at him. He carefully set an arm on my shoulders. A shiver ran down my spine, but not from his cold limb. I didn't care, actually. I scooted closer, setting my head on his chest.
"We stay here," He said softly, almost like a whisper. "We wait out the storm, then we go find them."
I nodded softly. Somehow, with his arm around me, I felt safe. I felt like the Guardians actually would be okay. Hopefully.----------
Bunny glanced over the side of the sleigh as Jack bolted down into the grey fog. His head was spinning, his stomach was reeling, and watching the usually annoying boy plummet into oblivion wasn't helping him feel any better.
"Damnit, Jack-" Pitch shouted over the wind, as he leaned on the side of the sleigh, making it waver and Bunny sink lower into the wood.
"Dont! He'll find her, don't worry." Bunny looked up to see Tooth grip at Pitch's arm. Pitch looked like he was about to follow Jack into the sickening oblivion.
"He can't see a damn thing, What if he can't find her and she gets hurt-"
"You trusted Jack with her, she'll be okay. You can't follow either, its better if you keep searching with us." Tooth continued, trying to pull him from the edge.
"But- But.." Pitch retaliated softly, letting out an exasperated sigh.
Bunny watched the two curiously. Why the bloody hell would Tooth stop him? Out of all of us, I was sure she hated him the most for stealing her fairies.
Pitch gave in to Tooth's words, looking pained as he stared into the grey fog where Jack disappeared. What was doing on between them?
Bunny's thoughts were cut off by a high pitched scream from somewhere off in the distance. It seemed to echo around them eerily.
"Ellie!" Pitch bursted out, going to chase after the scream. Again, Tooth pulled him back, with help from Sandy.
"Lets loop around, we might find a light spot in the fog," shouted North, who suddenly veered the sleigh to the right, making Bunny dig his nails into the wood. His thoughts dwindled down to one thing: If he survives this sleigh ride, He'll kill whoever made the little sheila scream in what sounded like terror.------
SO SORRY!

I need to figure out notifications on my iPod so I can get it when you leave comments and reply.
