I didn't like the Pole. It was too light, too airy, too.. Too much like North. I started to roam the halls, bored here, stuck here. What was I supposed to do? Leave my daughter here? No, I wouldn't.
Speaking of, she's probably in her new room sleeping. I need to check on her. Make sure she's okay. I had no doubt she was, she's a strong girl.
Turning a corner. I spied Sandman floating out a room. He saw me and gave me a playful wink that I didn't return in any way. Quite honestly, the little man scared me. Because of the new "truce" hopefully it'll be no hard feelings.
I walked down the hall as he went the opposite way, chasing after a short glittery creature with a tray of cups. I stayed out of their way. Walking down past them I peeked into the room Sandman was in. Guessing it was my Ellie, the only one here that really sleeps, I was surprised to see Jacks messy white hair at the head of the bed.
My eyes adjusted to the dark room and with Jack, flaming red hair sprouted from beside him. Ellie.
I told Jack I wanted him to watch over Ellie but this is not what I had in mind. They were sleeping together and it wast a sight a father never wants to see.
Out of any Guardian or any Spirit, why does it have to be Jack?
"Pitch?" A small voice came from the other side of the doorway. I looked down to Toothiana, who was watching me carefully. "Are you okay?"
I nodded softly. "When I told Jack I wanted him to watch over her this is not what I meant.." I said just as quietly, so we don't wake them.
"He still protects her, Pitch. However he can. No matter what she asks.."
"Did she.." I dug my sharp teeth into my lip, not breaking the skin.
"I overheard accidentally, while passing by. Yes she asked him to stay with her." I watched her bite her lip as she glanced at the two of them. "She was just seeking comfort in Jack, Pitch. She had a lot to take in today."
I frowned. Why not seek comfort In me? There was a long pause between us before she spoke again.
"So uh, Pitch," I looked back down to her. Her feathery cheeks were turning pink.
"Hm?"
"What if I did like the... The.."
"The kiss?" I smirked down at her.
I watched her nod a little, very shyly.
I raised my eyebrows at her. "Oh really?"
She fidgeted in her spot. I watched her hesitate to look up at me. "Well.. Maybe.." She got out before finally looking up to me.
I watched the fairy for a moment, her hummingbird like wings buzzed intently. Her eyes, a bright glowy pink. I, for a moment, admired her colors feathers that framed her face nicely.
I was too prideful to admit I liked the kiss too. Although I kissed her without a thought, unexpected to the both of us, I wouldn't admit that I kissed the quote unquote 'enemy ' and liked it.
And even, that I'd do it again with a clear mind. I'd do it now.
"Pitch?" I heard her call nervously.
I blinked a little and looked away. We were closer then we were a minute ago. I pulled a mischievous smile.
"Hm, I'll keep that in mind then, Toothiana." Before I did something out of character I stepped away and walked the opposite way down the hall.__________
I watched him walk away suddenly, even in his smooth strut I could tell he was forcing his legs to move. As he faded around the corner, my feathery feet found the floor. I stood there, still staring at the last spot I saw Pitch.
It wasn't my fault I fluttered closer. My wings adjust, and I float forward and backward regularly.. Right? Or was this just an excuse. Yeah okay, I wouldn't mind kissing him again, and yeah I liked kissing him the first time. What that such a bad thing?
I can already hear Bunny in the back of my head, saying something bad about Pitch. To them, it's a bad thing.
They didn't see Pitch like I did, though. He cares for Ellie so much, but sometimes he lets his anger get the best of him.
An image, a bloody image of when Bunny was healing Ellie, who suffered from a nasty blow by Pitches Scythe. The anger I felt even towards him, for hurting Ellie so mercilessly. There was also the click of change of emotion in Pitch, from burning anger to sudden nurturing worry. He might be a evil man but for Ellie he's changed so much, he accepted a form of truce between us and him. He let Jack watch over her when he can't. If you told me this time last year that he was capable of this, I would have called you a liar. Last year he was such a different person.
What was so odd is that Ellie is a completely different person. Ellie didn't have a temper, not from what I can tell. She was pretty collected, even in such I high stress situation like finding her sister.
How could her sister hate Ellie so much anyway? She has a sort of aura about her that makes her so amiable. If only there was record of her sisters memories, but she doesn't have a vial. I've checked every vial and put back the majority of them with the help of my fairies and the only familiar face I've seen is Ellie's. No dopledangers, no twin sisters.
"Ah Tooth, there you are. We need to speak about eh, dealing with Ellie's twin."I nodded softly at him before following him back to the Globe room. Bunny and Sandy hopefully had been caught up. In the back of the room, Pitch stood like a statue.
"Ellie told us her sister will be coming back for her decision. "North boomed as we walked up.
"She won't take it, will she?" I mumbled audibly. Pitch spoke up, walking from the back closer to us.
"She won't. She has no reason to leave."
"I say we tell her to go, we follow and talk to her mother ourselves. Figure out what the 'ell they want with Ellie." Bunny intruded, stepping forward.
"No no, too risky. What if they hurt her?" Pitch replied, looking at Bunny like what he said was outrageous.
I decided to stay out of it. Me an Sandy, standing on the sidelines letting the loud talkers argue out a solution. Soon, North and Bunny got Pitch to agree with what Pitch disproved as using his daughter as bait.
"Alright alright. You'll have to get that idea by Ellie, won't you? She's too smart to agree." Pitch said loudly over the other two, stating his point. Would she agree?__________
