Back in 2015 (when my age became two digits), I got absolutely HOOKED into TMNT 2012 (only seasons 1 and 2 though, as little me didn't care for story arcs and wasn't interested in anything post-season 2.
You might remember that I made FOUR TMNT books here on Wattpad, with some less than stellar quality and horrendous grammar to boot. (I'm from Brazil, gotta keep that in mind)
I even got TMNT plushies from 2013 that came in happy meals. It all started when one of my friends at music school gave me a Raph plushie when we were heading home. I fell in love with it and immediately asked my parents to try and find the rest. Eventually I got Donnie and Leo. (I still want Mikey. It's a shame I didn't get him 😰)
I still remember some of the episodes I used to watch. One of the more embarrassing moments was when I was watching "Fungus Humongous", where my sister just walked in and stared at the tv constantly asking me who was who. I couldn't take it anymore 🤣
My dad's job is to sell products (like toys, stationery, flip-flops, etc) to customers who run independent stores. And every year he comes home with a box full of samples and stuff for US to use! One day, he came with some TMNT games, like a board game, a jigsaw puzzle and a memory game.
I remember playing the board game with my sis (fangirl vs not that) and I think I won. I can't really remember.
One time, my history teacher was teaching us about Renaissance artists and... Well, I think you get the idea. (I think I was the only one actually paying attention... 'cause turtles)
It got to the point where when my mom told me that a friend of hers had a son who was going to have a TMNT themed birthday party, I couldn't say no.
I made an OC: Cornélie, or just "Élie". She was originally related to April, but to be honest, I don't think that would be a good idea, so over time I made her unrelated.
I started to roleplay as Élie on a TMNT Roleplay community on Google+ (remember Google+?) And here on Wattpad, I made stories with nineturtlemates on my inbox :)
While I was on a trip, I thought to myself "what if the turtles had spiritual successors of sorts?" And KBYG was born. I talked more about this idea in a previous chapter.
I got to watch the 2014 movie. I don't remember where but I do remember watching it. Never watched Out of The Shadows though, more on that on a future chapter.
In late 2016, I sorta moved on from TMNT, and it never really came back to me.
Okay, it did a bit sometimes, but I wasn't as absolutely obsessed with it as I was before. Mostly due to the fact that reruns of seasons 1 and 2 weren't airing on Nick anymore.
I still remember the timeslot: 4:30 PM. Sometimes it would extend to 5 or so PM due to another show I used to watch that would air right after TMNT. Stay tuned for that one!
So yeah.
When I was 10 I was darn near obsessed with Ninja Turtles.
And now that I'm revisiting everything that was made up of that obsession, I kinda miss it.
