For the next few weeks, we continued training in secret and I'll admit I was pretty scared and nervous about the whole thing. Five never said anything about coming back home and I didn't wanna leave my mom. He assured me everything would be fine and he could do this alone if I was so scared but I assured him I was fine.
The two of us decided that we would go in a week. "Are you sure we're prepared for this?" I asked fidgeting with my fingers. He nodded. "Yes I mean we've been practicing for weeks we got this" he sat down next to me and placed his hands on my shoulders.
"Listen I know you might be scared but it's not like you're doing this alone. I swear I will never leave your side no matter what." he kissed my cheek. I smiled and engulfed him in a hug. He gladly accepted my hug. "Thanks, Five," I said "Anytime. I uh I love you" he mumbled. I looked at him and smiled. "I love you too."
We walked back to his house to train for a bit more and just figure out where we were going and what we were going to do. Throughout these past weeks, I've saved some money from working at the shop and helping around at the library. Hopefully, we didn't go anywhere we had to use euros or something.
"Okay so why don't we stay here but just go forward some years?" Five said writing something down. I nodded. "Okay we have everything planned out we should be good" he continued. I bit my lip and sighed. 'It'll be fine' I thought reassuring myself

Today is the day. I had it all planned out. Mom rang the bell that signaled it was time to eat. We all stood at our assigned seats waiting for the old man. "Sit," he said we all obeyed like dogs. I observed everyone before stabbing a knife into the table. "Number Five?" "I have a question," I said sternly. " Knowledge is an admirable goal, but you know the rules. No talking during mealtimes. You are interrupting Herr Carlson." he replied "I want to time travel"
"No," he said. "But I'm ready. I've been practicing my spatial jumps like you said" I said jumping right next to him. "See?" "A spatial jump is trivial when compared with the unknowns of time travel. One is like sliding along the ice, the other is akin to descending blindly into the depths of the freezing water and reappearing as an acorn." I looked at him confused. "Well, I don't get it," I said quietly.
"Hence the reason you're not ready," he said continuing to eat. "I'm not afraid" I interrupted once more. "Fear isn't the issue. The effects it might have on your body, even on your mind, are far too unpredictable. Now I forbid you to talk about this anymore I thought being around Y/n would have a good impact on you perhaps I was wrong." How dare that asshole talk about her like that.
