Christmas was a welcome break for you this year. You'd been so busy with exams and deadlines you'd barely had time to think about the festive season. However, today had been your last exam and so you were ready to embrace the holiday.

You fell onto the couch next to your girlfriend, sighing heavily for dramatic effect. Lydia glanced over at you, raising her eyebrows.

"Are you OK?" She asked you.

"I'm just so happy to finally be done with studies. I feel like I've been drowning recently." You smiled over at her. "Couldn't have done it without your help."

"You know I'm always happy to help you, Y/N." She said, taking your hand briefly. "How about I go make some hot chocolate? To celebrate you being finished?"

"You know me so well," you said as she stood up to go into the kitchen. As she was bustling around, you got up and wandered over to the window, pulling up the blinds.

You gasped in excitement as you gazed outside. There was a light flurry of snow drifting down onto the ground. Your eyes lit up at the sight. It was almost like an early Christmas present for you.

Lydia walked back in holding two mugs and you waved her over excitedly. "Look," you pointed. "It's snowing."

She smiled at your excitement as she passed you your hot chocolate. The warmth spread over your hands as you took it, making you feel extra cosy whilst looking at the snow.

"Isn't it beautiful?" Lydia said. "There's something about snow that just seems so peaceful and calm."

You looked over at the strawberry blonde girl, your stomach fluttering. You were so glad to be spending Christmas with her, you felt like the luckiest person in the world.

"I'm glad you're here, Lydia."

She looked back at you. "Not as glad as I am."
