It was morning. Or at least, Jordan thought it was. It was still dark out when he woke up. He had the strangest dream..yet he couldn't remember what exactly it was about. 'Nothing unusual I guess.' He thought to himself. He slipped his glasses on over his eyes and got it of bed, walking over to the window to check outside. Yep. While it didn't look it, it was most definitely morning. The birds wouldn't be flying around and tweeting, rather annoyingly, otherwise. He looked back at his bed. Normally he'd just go back to sleep, he'd been needed it lately. But for some reason, Jordan felt wide awake. He shrugged.

"It's probably 'cause I went to sleep early yesterday.. Well. No use just standing around here. Might as well go for a walk or something."

He grabbed his shoes, quickly putting them on before heading down stairs. The house was a lot..emptier nowadays, considering he'd moved just about all his stuff to his little pocket dimension. It was roomy now, having an almost abandoned feel to it. He'd never actually used any of the things in his house besides the things he'd created himself. The desks had a thin layer of dust and the inkwell on one of them had long since dried out. Hell, he didn't even use the bed all that much. Most nights were spent fighting mobs, going on adventures, or making some expensive and complicated contraption. He'd barely slept and whenever he did get the rare opportunity of free time, he normally spent it upgrading his weapons or passing out in a relatively safe spot for an hour or so. He shook his head, clearing his mind of the thoughts of all the times he'd nearly died because he'd dozed off near a skeleton or creeper. He opened his door and stepped outside, locking it behind him.

'Jordan...'

"Hm? Hello?"

Jordan looked around to see no one. He knew he didn't imagine that, he'd clearly heard someone call his name.

"Hello? Anyone there?"

No answer. 'Did.. Did I just imagine it?' He thought to himself. He spotted something glowing out of the corner of his eye. Looking over, he saw a small glowing ball floating a few feet away.

'Jordan...'

"Was..was that thing just talking to me?"

'Jordan.. Follow me...'

And it disappeared only to pop back into existence farther away. Jordan hesitantly began to walk towards it. The pulsating glow the thing produced was..hypnotizing for a lack of better word. As the ball began teleporting away father and father away, Jordan's previous hesitance disappeared and he almost desperately chased after the ball, feeling like he'd die if he didn't catch up to it.

"Hey! Wait up!"

'Follow me...'

The ball finally stopped and Jordan practically pounced on it, cupping it in his hands and panting slightly.

"Finally.. Now why'd you lead me here..?"

He stood in front of the Tainted statue once more. The little bit of warmth that the ball provided disappeared as it faded out of Jordan's grasp. He huffed. 'All that effort..' He looked up and froze. The statue's eyes were..glowing? 'They..they weren't doing that before were they?'

'Jordan..'

It was that voice again. "Hello? Who's there?" He looked around and laid a hand on his sword just in case.

'Jordan.. Come with us Jordan...'

'Yes, come with us...'

'Join us..'

"What the hell...?" Jordan looked around, confused. There was no one around so who was calling him? He winced and held his head as gentle tone of the voices turned harsh and painfully loud.

'COME WITH US JORDAN'

'JOIN US'

'C O M E W I T H U S'

And Jordan's head snapped up. His vision turned a now familiar purple shade and he felt himself walking towards..something. Unlike the other times, the purple had completely taken over his vision now. The voices had gotten softer, more tempting. He felt his arm reach out as the voices sounded their approval. He snapped out of the trance he seemed to be in and jumped back in shock, falling to the ground as he found his arm dangerously close to a Tainted tentacles reach. He rubbed his arm, feeling the goosebumps that had appeared. The voices had gone quiet now, not even a whisper was left. Jordan shakily stood up and backed away from the statue.

'I..I gotta get out of here.. Away from this /thing./'

And with one last look at the statue, he quickly walked away from the tow heading in the direction of Tom's house. Unknown to him, the voices still whispered, but to themselves now.

'Soon he will join us, yes?'

'Very soon.'

'He can't resist us forever..

'No one can..'
