🎵 sleep thru ur alarms - lontalius

sasha was awoken by a loud thud from nearby. the sound nearly made her jolt awake. the first thing she's met with after opening her eyes were blinding sun rays peaking through damaged blinds. she squints, rubbing her eyelids and groaning at her pounding headache. she was too focused on her new pain, she almost forgot about her swollen ankle.

she lifts her hand to block the very bright light from her eyes and takes in her surroundings. she's laying down in a surprisingly comfortable bed, in a room she's definitely not familiar with. she doesn't know how she got here, or where she's at. anxiety creeps in the bedroom and begins to overtake her weak body.

scuffling from outside the bedroom can be heard, as well as a couple of voices. everything feels uneasy, and sasha wants to leave immediately. the main thing stopping her were her injuries. whether if she was able to escape or not, she fears that the other people would do something to her. she could've been kidnapped for all she knows.

her arm grew sore quickly, so she slowly places it on her head. she makes physical contact with a cotton fabric, and realizes that her head was wrapped up. she lightly traces along the wrap, picking at a loose string. with her tongue poking out the side of her mouth, she carefully moves her uninjured foot and rubs it against the other. her ankle was wrapped too, a little too tight for her liking though. so maybe she wasn't kidnapped?

the door was cracked open, open wide enough to where sasha could see railing of a staircase that lead to the first floor. her heart nearly stops when a figure suddenly blocks the view and peeks in the room. a man with shaved, grey hair looks at the girl who was finally awake. she looks at him with wide eyes, feeling terrified. she couldn't help her immediate body shakes.

the man pokes his head back out. "jean! she's awake!" he yells.

he stands there until another man walks up to him. the grey haired man opens the door for the taller man to walk through. he looked awfully recognizable to sasha, and she couldn't pinpoint why.

the man stands a couple of feet away from the doorway, keeping his distance from the bed. he looks at the girl with a tired expression reading his face. the bags under his eyes were blatant, like he hadn't slept for days.

"how're you feeling?" he speaks through his raspy voice.

sasha gulps. "where am i?"

the man buries his hands into the pockets of his dirty pants. he steps back to lean against the door frame. "you're at my place. i took you here 'cause you were unconscious."

unconscious? that probably explains the agonizing headache and the bandage wrap around her head.

sasha pulls the covers closer to cover herself. "oh."

the man looks down at the dirty floorboard and awkwardly scuffles his foot. "yep."

the silence was uncomfortable. it was almost making sasha's headache worse. she was having trouble remembering what had happened for her to end up here. why did this man look so familiar, and why was it so awkward?
