Jeongin's pov
"You- you what?" Hyunjin asked. I looked at him unamused.
"You should have known this for a while, Jinnie. I've been telling you that I wished Chan would propose for like a year now!" I exclaimed. Chan looked at me sadly.
"You've been waiting that long?" Chan asked softly. I blushed and nodded.
"Yeah, I have..." I mumbled. I shook it all off.
"So, can we? That's the main reason we stopped before picking out a ring. We care about your opinions," I said as I played with Chan's fingers.
"Baby, why him?" Jisung asked. I looked at him before looking down at the ground.
"He makes me feel safest and secure. You guys do too! It's just, I know I love him while I haven't known you guys for very long-"
"So you don't want to get to know us better?" Seungmin asked softly. I gasped.
"No, guys, I do! But as I've said, I love him and I know I can trust him," I said. They all but Chan rolled their eyes and walked into the house.
"Guys?" I asked. I received no response. I looked down at the ground and let tears roll down my cheeks.
"You know what? Fuck them, Jeongin. You can get married to me and they can just get over it all. Come on, let's get you a ring," Chan claimed as he lifted my chin. I sniffled and shook my head.
"No, I hate upsetting them," I sighed and left first to Chan's room. I sat on the bed and cried loudly as I imagined them all hating me.
"I'm sorry..." I whispered. I wiped my cheeks harshly but the tears never left.
"Baby, it's-"
"It's not okay! It's not!" I shouted and cried harder. Waves of pain washed over my body. Chan sat down beside me and rubbed my back.
"No!" I scampered away from him. I stood at the bathroom door, my breathing quick.
"Baby-"
"No more baby! I know I'll love them all too, so you and I can't get married! We can't let me pick favorites," i spat and let my tears dry completely. I slowly put myself back together and went to cover my hickies with makeup.
"Baby..." Chan mumbled. I shook my head.
"You know what? I'm the king here. They're supposed to listen to me. They're my friends. They're supposed to support me when I find love. You and me can either make them stop, or leave back to the humans. I'm not losing you because of them," Chan said and pulled me to himself. I felt as he teleported us back into our cramped apartment.
"But-"
"No buts baby. No matter how much you love them, you shouldn't let them dictate your life and control your decisions. If you really want to marry me, we can elope now with the humans then go back later after the honeymoon." Chan planned. I thought it through then nodded.
"Okay, let's go get married!" Chan exclaimed and pulled me into a building. We signed some papers and a man claimed us as husbands.
"Alright, now that the actual marriage part is out of the way, let's go get our rings," Chan said. I nodded.
"Okay," I smiled and held my husband's hand. Chan let me pick my rings out. I pointed at the engagement ring I wanted and Chan picked out the wedding bands.
"Do you feel a little better now?" Chan asked. I nodded, smiling widely. I couldn't help but feel like we were being watched.
"Channie, is someone watching us?" I asked as quietly as I could. He stiffened up knowing that I felt as he did.
"I think it's one of the guys," Chan said as he looked around. We found Felix in the corner of the jewelry store.
"So you really did choose him over all six of us?" Felix asked, shaking his head. He walked out of the door and teleported to the castle.
I felt guilty for my quick decisions. Chan noticed and pulled me out of the store. We walked out of the mall and he teleported us back to the castle.
"getting married to-"
"They're behind you Felix," Minho pointed out the obvious as Chan and I stood behind Felix. Chan held the bag of small ring boxes. We hadn't had time to put them on yet.
"Of course they are." Felix rolled his eyes. Chan cleared his throat.
"While we are still friends, I am the king here. You all should be happy that I found love. Why are you so upset that he loves me back?" Chan asked, his voice and body language exuding a power I had never seen from him.
"Because we all love him too, Bang Chan. Why are you making him-"
"He's not making me do anything! I've had it to here with all of you guys playing tug of war with my heart! I know for absolute fact that I love Chan and that he wouldn't hurt me on purpose.
"Hyunjin, you did. That is why I cannot be romantically with you. Changbin, Jisung, you both abandoned me when I was most impressionable. That is why I cannot marry you.
"The remaining four of you, I don't know you well enough to have romantic feelings for yet. While I do trust Minho, I don't really trust you three yet much at all.
I'm sorry but this is how I am. Since Changbin and Jisung left me, I've built walls that only Chan has been able to break down. I don't think I can just drop them so easily, especially after Hyunjin..."I spoke quickly.
"That's understandable," Seungmin spoke first after a moment of silence.
"So you two really are officially married?" Minho asked. I nodded my head, a small smile on my lips as I looked at Chan.
"Yeah, we are. Where do you want to go for our honeymoon?" Chan asked. I gave it some thought before shrugging.
"Where would you want to take me?" I asked in return. Chan smiled softly.
"Paris. It's such a romantic city, and it has so much fun stuff to do around the city." Chan smiled still. I gasped softly.
"Babe- that'll be so expensive-"
"Baby, I'm a king, remember? We don't have to worry about money or anything," Chan kissed my cheek and opened the bag. He opened the engagement ring box first and slid it onto my ring finger. Then he opened the wedding band box and slid the silver one onto my finger and the black one onto his own finger.
"Have fun, you two!" Seungmin smiled widely and hugged us both.
