Chapter 2: Reunion

A/N: Things will start to pick up next chapter, and from then on the pacing should get better, so I recommend reading next chapter before dropping this if you don't know if you're into the story or not. If you have any suggestions let me know!

Without thinking for even a moment, Chara leapt over to her big goat dad and gave him a big hug, knocking over his teacup in the process.

Asgore: "Whoa there! Chara you need to be careful! You could have hurt yourself."

Asgore looked down at his daughter. From his perspective this was quite odd, but a welcome oddity. He heard sobs of his child as she buried her face into his chest. He didn't understand what was going through her head but consoled her nonetheless.

Asgore: "Golly...what a strange child you are. What's wrong dear? I'm here for you and so is Asriel."

Chara: "I'm just...just sooo happy that I'm with you guys! I love you both so much."

As she says that, this time she jumps onto her fluffy goat brother, hugging him with great force.

Asriel: "G-geez Chara! You're squishing me! What's wrong?"

Chara: "I just had a really bad dream is all..."

She let go, and wiped her tears away. She didn't know what was going on but she didn't care. Her family was here. She was here. And she felt truly happy for the first time in a while. Somehow, the sin that lead to her brother's death had been wiped away from history and was reunited with both her brother and father.

Asgore poured some more tea and also brought some chocolate. Her favorite.

Chara: "Um, I'm alright now."

Chara: [Well that was embarrassing...I need to focus and figure out what's going on. I'll need to gather some information]

Asgore: "That's lovely to hear! I'm glad that I was able to spend some time with my kids today."

Asgore heartily laughed and smiled warmly at his children.

Asgore: "Unfortunately my time is almost up, so you kids should get going. I'll let you know when I'm free so we can spend some more time together. Um...send your mother my regards too..."

Chara looked at him quizzically.

Chara: [shouldn't they still be together? If we're alive that means dad didn't declare war on humanity and kill other children, so there shouldn't be any bad blood between them right?]

She was deep in thought while walking with her brother out of the throne room. She looked up at Asriel and noticed something.

Chara: "Uhhh Asriel, you're a bit taller than usual...and your horns are growing...?"

Asriel: "I am!? Now that you mention it you've changed too!"

Asriel seemed really excited about this. He was wearing an outfit similar to what he had when he absorbed everyone's souls.

She felt different as well. She was clearly taller, and had a different body type.

Chara ran a hand through her hair. It was a bit longer and messy. She was wearing an unbuttoned light green dress shirt and a light yellow shirt underneath it.

She also noticed what looked to be a badge of some sort on the chest area of her dress shirt. It was the Deltarune symbol. Asriel had it too.

Chara: [What is this...?]
