"Hank I'm fine, seriously!", you exclaimed.

Hank wore a weary expression, "y/n, you're not okay. You should take the day off from teaching. Spend some time by yourself. It's been 16 years, you need to accept it." He was talking about Sean's death.

"Hank for Christ's sake I know how damn long it's been! I've counted the days! The months! The years! Trust me I know how fucking long it's been since I last saw the love of my life!" You screeched. "I lost him, and then I lost my best friend! The only one that has stayed is you!" A faint tear fell down your cheek landing on my black cotton shirt.

Hank let out a quiet sigh and walked closer to you pulling you in close to him giving you a warm hug. "It's okay, I lost them too. I just don't want you to loose it while you're teaching today," he said patting your back.

As you two detached you looked over at the window the morning sun just nearly peaking over the evergreens that surrounded the mansion. You wiped the small tear from your cheek, "I'll be okay, we all will, right?" You asked with a worried expression.

"We'll be okay," Hank said reassuringly rubbing your arm and shoulder. Giving you a faint tight lipped smile.

Time skip to noon

"Mhm Jean!" You called seeing the red-head walk past you towards the kitchen.

"Yes professor!" She said whipping her head around to look at you.

"Remind me to give you a candy for getting the question right!" You say remembering how you had promised a treat to the students who could get the answers correct.

She simply smiled and nodded her head before turning on her heel and walking into the kitchen. The kitchen and dining room was always crowded around lunch time. It was one of the two breaks in the day, chatter filled the room as usual. You heard the doorbell go off and rushed to open the door. It could've possibly been a mutant child just trying to seek shelter. Swinging the door open before looking at the figure, "Xavier school for gifted you-" you froze.

The man had long red hair, he was thin but not fit. He looked almost fragile like you'd be able to break him with one touch, freckles littered his bruised and swollen skin. He wore a grey fleece shift and grey sweatpants.

"y/n?" A voice you hadn't heard in 16 years spoke.

Sean. Sean Cassidy.

"Sean?!" You mumbled out of pure shock. "You're alive, h-" you couldn't finish the sentence before he collapsed. You ducked down grabbing his head before it could hit the pavement.

"HANK! KURT GO GET HANK NOW!" You yelled to the blue mutant. You heard a rattling and then a bamf and a puff of blue smoke beside you.

"What is it?" You heard Hank say before he went quiet seeing Sean. "Kurt, med lab, now!" He demanded. You all held on and in a matter of seconds you were in the infirmary.

The three of you hoisting Sean onto a table. Hank started attaching wires all over Sean's body, placing patches to read signals. You checked his pulse, you could feel that he was weak. "Kurt get her outta here please, so I can focus,"Hank demanded.

With a bamf you were outside your room. You quickly went inside and slammed the door. He was alive! The person you loved the most in the world. Was. Back. Why didn't he come back sooner? Where the hell was he! Yup thought he was dead! You cried for years over him being gone! And now he just decides to show the hell up! You sobbed. You sobbed for what felt like days. That's all you could do. All the emotions came bubbling out in those hours you spent crying.

Next day

You heard a faint knock on the door. "Come in!" You sniffled.

It was Hank. "He's, he's, uh been asking for you,"he says with his hands stuffed in his pockets.

"Well you can tell the son of a bitch I never wanna see him again!" You choked out.

"Hey," Hank cooed, "we know that isn't true." He bent down to my level on the floor. "It'll be good for both of you," he said offering you a hand to help pull you up. You took it and followed him downstairs to the infirmary.

"He should be in there," Hank said gesturing to recovery room. "I'll give you two some privacy," he said sheepishly before you walked inside.

When you walked inside Sean was laying on the bed eating like it was his last meal. When he saw me his head snapped up, "y/n!" He said a little joyfully.

You simply ran to his side and hugged him. Squeezing him hard. Having no intention to let him go. "Shh it's okay," he coos. You hoist yourself onto his bed so you're laying next to him. He buries himself in your neck taking all of you in. You began crying, "I missed you so much Cass" you said in between a sob.

"I missed you too sugar" he said pulling you close. "I love you Sean." You sniffled pulling away from the embrace. "I love you too y/n don't you ever forget it." He said kissing your forehead. You out of instinct pulled him in lips molding together in a slow synchronized kiss.

Once you two pulled apart you clung to him, resting your body on his. Never planning to let anything or anyone pull you apart from your boy. Never ever again.
