"Okay babe how do I look?" You ask Sean after you put on the outfit you were going to wear. "Absolutely amazing, they're gonna love you," he smiled kissing you gently.

Today was the day of Sean's family reunion, he was gonna take you with him. It would be the first time you had met anyone in his family. You were nervous to say the very least. "Alright let's go," he says cheerfully taking you with him to his motorcycle. You both got on and he drove to his parents house arriving after only around an hour and a half.

Luckily his parents were from New York, therefore it didn't take absolutely forever to get there. You hopped off looking after stopping and looked at Sean's childhood home. It was a red brick house that was visibly two stories. "What if they don't like me?" You asked as you both walked towards the door. "I promise on my life, they'll absolutely love you." He said reassuringly.

You heard laughter from the backyard of the house and adults chatting. He rang the doorbell and after around 15 seconds a woman in blue jeans and a white t-shirt opened the door. "Sean!" She said and gave Sean a hug which he immediately returned. Once they detached she looked at me, "and you must be y/n! It's great to finally meet the person my son won't shut up about! My name is Christina," She said giving me an unexpected hug. "Come on in!" She said sweetly.

Sean and I walked in past the living room and the kitchen that was next to the dining room. "Everyone is outside," she said returning to the kitchen and stirring a batch of brownie mix. Sean took my hand calming my nerves and gave me a sweet reassuring smile. He opened the door and we both walked out onto the back deck patio.

A young girl only around 8 years old ran up to Sean. She had red hair just like him, she was wearing white shorts and a flowing light blue top. And he immediately dropped down to her level and picked her up. "Sean!" Her high pitched voice giggled. "Hey Evie! Did you miss me?" He asked. She nodded her head, she had two braids in her hair so they bobbed as she moved her head.

"Is that them?" She whispered in his ear but loud enough for you to hear. He whispered in her ear loud enough for you to hear, "yes it is," he smiled from ear to ear. "Hi!" She said waving at you. "Hi, I'm y/n," you smiled.

"Are you two gonna get married soon?" She asked curiously. You started chuckling as Sean turned bright red, "not quite yet Evie," you smiled. "Well I think you should get married," she smiled. "Y/n this is my little sister Evangeline, we all call her Evie or Eve." He introduced her. He put her down and she ran off to the other kids that were playing in the backyard.

"Hey son," a gruff voice said, you turned and saw a brown haired man talking to Sean. "Hey dad," he said giving him a quick hug. "This is y/n. They are my uh partner," he sounded nervous. You waved awkwardly at the tall man. "Not much of a talker are they?" He chuckled patting Sean's back.

He may have meant no harm by the comment but it hurt you a lot. "Hey dad if you wouldn't mind not commenting on them that would be great," Sean requested. "You brought them here, and I can have whatever opinion I want on them," he said staring me down. "So are they a freak?" He asked Sean. "Dad," Sean warned.

"What? Do they know who you are? Are they like you? A mutant or whatever they call people like you," he asked rudely, staring you down. "Yes I am actually," you spoke before Sean could.

"I'd also like to ask you not to disrespect my boyfriend sir." You retorted harshly. "He's my son not yours," his dad raised his voice. "No wonder he chose you, Sean couldn't have gotten any normal person so he just settled for what wanted him," his dad's words cut deep. "DAD!" Sean yelled angrily.

"You know what you're drunk, you're not thinking straight, I'm not even gonna bother arguing with you," Sean said using every once of mental power to keep himself from slugging his dad in the face.

"AHHH OH MY GOD!" A high pitched voice yelled. Everyone turned towards where it came from. Evie was standing there but she was, glowing. "What happened?!" Sean's father yelled. "I pushed her, a-" a small boy about Evie's age said horrified. She suddenly lifted him off the ground with a ball of blue light.

I ran to her side. "Evie, hey, look at me. It's okay, I need you to calm your mind for me okay," you said placing your hands on the girls cheeks. You reached into her mind and replaced the visions of what happened to the visual of a sunflower meadow. She calmed quickly, the blue light faded away from her body, Sean catching the boy she had lifted in the air.

She passed out from exhaustion after she put the boy down. "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST DO!" Sean's dad yelled. You lifted Evie's limp body and helped carry her inside laying her down on the couch and pulling a blanket over her letting her mind rest. Sean's father followed after you yelling you while you tried to remain calm.

You were okay until he put a firm grip on your shoulder. "GET YOUR GOD DAMN HANDS OFF ME!" You screeched pushing him off of you. "What the hell did you just do to my daughter!" He yelled. "I saved her god damn life, you wanna know what my powers are Mr.Cassidy? I can charge non moving objects with physical energy, I can manipulate energy, forming energy balls. Kind of like what your daughter was just doing. I'm also a telepath, which means I can read your mind! So yes I'm a freak, but I just saved your daughter and your nephew's life!" You said as you backed him up against the wall of the living room.

"James!" Christina yelled at her husband. "Get out of here, go outside!" She yelled at him. He obeyed reluctantly. Sean came inside, "I'm getting the fuck out of here, Sean if you want to stay you're welcome to but if so I'm calling Alex to pick me up," you said angrily. Sean came over to you and pulled you into the guest bathroom.

You were shaking, and on the verge of tears. Sean looked at you scanning your body and he pulled you into a warm hug. "Shh, it's okay, you're gonna be okay," he said running his fingers through your hair. After about 10 minutes you stopped shaking, and the urge to break down completely and sob almost fully went away.

"Come on, lets get out of here," he said petting the side of your head lovingly. "No, it's your family Sean, besides your mom is nice, a-," he cut you off "I know you're uncomfortable, and I'm not going to press this onto you okay." He said kissing your forehead.

"I just was trying to help, he definitely hates me," you sniffled. "Hey, it doesn't matter what he thinks. I don't really care about his opinion about the person I love. It's not gonna stop me from loving you," he said sweetly. You pulled him down and kissed him. "I love you," you murmured.

After a quick second you both walked out of the bathroom. "We're gonna leave, tell dad he's never coming around y/n again if he doesn't learn to respect them. Here call this number when Evie wakes up," he gave his mom a card that had Hank's number on it. "I love you mom, bring Evie by the mansion one day," he said before we both left.
