🔥Diluc Romantic Headcanons🔥

You'll be able to tell that I really love Diluc through this chapter :) he's one of my favourites.

• Outside Dawn Winery, Diluc isn't a massively affectionate person, however while on walks through Wolvendom and Mondstadt he will hold your hand, or if he's not in the mood to do so he will lightly brush himself against you, keeping you close in his own way. Might not go the full way with hand-holding but may instead wrap his pinkie finger around yours.

• Loves a person that can cook. He's always had a maid to prepare his meals, so it's a nice change for him to try your recipes. If you can't cook then that's okay too - maybe you can learn together! Even if you're not great at it, seeing Diluc all dressed up with his hair tied back and an apron on would be so worth it. Throw flour on him, see how he reacts! ><*

• Since the death of his father he has not been good with expressing his feelings, so he uses little signals to express the words "I love you" rather than saying them. Of course he does say it from time to time, you're just more likely to feel that through a squeeze of your hand, through the caress of your face, through laying his hand on your thigh at the dinner table... depending on the situation it will change, but he lets you know he appreciates you in his own way.

• Diluc is a very professional and withdrawn person, however he is quick to get jealous (especially when it is one of the Knights of Favonius, increasingly so if it is Kaeya that is proving to get on his nerves). A lot of the time you will never know because he is not one to make it obvious, but if something becomes too much for him to watch then he will swiftly steal you away from whoever/whatever is causing that to arise.
^He can get jealous over the silliest thing as well. Sometimes if someone he doesn't like is spatially closer to you than he is he will get agitated.

• He's not a self-conscious individual but appreciates your words of encouragement and reassurance from time to time. Not too much though or he may not know how to react/may become uncomfortable.

• He's bigger on hugs than kisses, but when he does kiss you it's most likely to be on the temple (he's relatively tall, but if you are taller then he will reach up/pull your head down to get there). As he comes from an aristocratic family, he is also accustomed to giving hand kisses.

• When he wants to show affection but doesn't fancy going in for a kiss on your lips, he'll pull your face to his and give tickle-y bunny kisses instead.

• If he finds out you're ticklish, he will abuse that power when you're alone together (secretly Elzer caught you having a tickle war once, but he stayed quiet and holds onto the memory instead as to not ruin a moment you two don't get often).

• Likes to play around with your hands/hair when you're relaxing together. It's like a habit. He finds it so fascinating that your hands, not rough but calloused just like his, have the ability to give life to his gardens yet also can easily take the lives of others. Likes comparing your hand sizes.

• Is increasingly affectionate the more tired/groggy he is as he has less control over his actions. That is why you always get at least one good-morning kiss from him as you both awaken. He is just as bad if not worse if drunk (Venti switched out his drink once to see what would happen - never again (that is, if he want's to be served in Angel's Share ever again).

• Compares himself to you a lot and wonders if he's good enough for you.

• Severe attachment issues. Worries profusely (not that anyone would know by his outward facade) when you're not home on time, or your commission took longer than expected - especially if you got hurt during it. he doesn't want to lose anyone else precious to him, especially you.
