Today was a long day.

I look over my shoulder through an old pair of glasses that didn't fit just to know I was still safe. Letting out a sigh of relief looking up at the sun. I just stand looking at the beach, with the small boat that I had crafted sitting by the beach side.

I'd survived three years of hell, my blonde hair grown long. My face unshaved looking very primal. The glasses barely fit. Just more proof of change.

I had no idea what I was in for at the start of this journey. The kid that came is long gone only leaving a hardened skilled warrior in his place.

Every night sleepless because I feared someone would find me. I had basic gear on me a Katana, Bow, two throwing knives, a pair, and a makeshift fishing rod and string.

Hearing the noise of movement in my area I jump up pulling out my katana and holding a throwing knife in my free hand.

"Who's there?" I say staring in the direction of the noise.

I'm wearing my armored ninja suit that I was given after first getting here. The figure walks out from the woods looking at me and my black and dark green suit.

"Julie?" I say pulling my mask off rushing over to her she meets me halfway with a big hug.

After i fought my way to the top I met her. She is the daughter of my master. The man who trained me. We had gotten really close, but then I planned and executed my escape.

"Chris you really made it, my old man has been looking all over the island... you have to get out of here. Or come back." Julie says pulling away.

"I could've killed him, by the code of honor he owes me." I say looking down to the side.

"He wants you here Chris, he says you are unlike the others he has trained." She says looking at me with a frown.

"Julie i'm not going back, the city of Aster and my people need me. But you can come with me." I said walking over to the little boat I made.

"He's my father Chris, I have sworn duty to him and our family. Without family what do we really have?" She says following behind me.

"Then you should know why I have to do this." I say dropping off all my supplies in the boat trying to not show any emotion.

"You might die out there, your skill and everything going to waste. Why must you go now?" Julie says standing by my side.

"Well im just willing to take that risk, for my family and my people." I say looking back facing her.

Julie faces me saying, "I'll tell him I assume you're dead. It should buy you some time or may even save your life. Anyway good luck out there." That was the last thing she said before kissing my forehead.

I then smile facing away stepping into the boat rowing out far. I look back once at her once when im out far on the water. My smile then fading after I was out of sight.

I grab the makeshift paddle and started paddling out to sea.

I'd paddled for hours now it was in the afternoon considering how I started early this morning.

My stomach growled a little as I stop rowing to rest.

The glasses on my face had survived these three years. They fit awkwardly on my face where I've grown.

I start blinking slowly becoming sleepy. My eyes grow heavy and tired. But I shake myself awake at the thought I might would sleep but never wake.

No.. noo , looking off through the fog I see a large ship off in the distance. In seconds I would be sighted. I dive from the side of the handcrafted boat into the water. I could hear shortly after the sounds of wood being shot then then bullets splashing into the water.
