Book One Part Three- The Secret Threat
Some secrets are too painful to be spoken...until its to late.
After an intense battle to protect his home form the Ghoul menace and suffering deaths in the Clan during the Celebration both Brandon and Ezekiel...
Suddenly Jacob was back across the clearing and with the dull side of the blade he pressed the cool metal to his flesh and forced Brandon to look at him.
"Oh what is this...are you crying Lil One?" Jacob sneered easily clocking the heavy mist trying to gather into Brandon's green gaze.
Brandon felt his entire body seizing on rage and sorrow. His heart felt like it melting and his head was whirling with hatred for the lion.
How could he!? I'll kill him!! I'll fucking kill him for this!!
Brandon was sure that his face was bleeding over with cold wrath, but Jacob only laughed in light of the blood lust on his face. Making Brandon see deep red. "Your a monster..." he whispered spitefully preparing to lunge at the beast.
"OHhhhh....So scary Lil one! You look like you want to disembowel me....Sounds like a fun time we can share, but there is no need to be so angry. I just wanted answers. So tell me is this boy somebody to you after all? Is he somebody special to you perhaps?"
Huh? No need?
Brandon asked himself.
With his voice caught in his throat Brandon glanced past the lion to see Ezekiel and...he was alive.
He was laid on his side in the dirt apparently holding a bloody mouth that Jacob had slammed the butt of his blade into to as a cruel joke. He had simply wanted to make Brandon panic.
"You're a sick bastard!" Brandon shouted in Jacobs face resisting the urge to spit in it as he realized that his teats had been for nothing but entertainment.
Jacob simply smirked. "Be nice to me! You should thank me for not killing him......" Then Jacob snarled. "Now answer my question! Is he involved with you? Is that why you don't want him dead?"
Rather than risk the lion walking back across the clearing to beat on Ezekiel if he didn't respond truthfully Brandon shamelessly blinked away the tears in his eyes, ignoring the water as it traced down his cheeks.
"Yes....yes he is someone very special to me alright? Dont hurt him anymore Ja. Please.....He knows nothing except my name." He forced himself to reply docilely but genuinely.
Jacob stared at him for a moment, before dropping the blade from Ezekiels bloody skin and releasing a hard laugh that may as well have been a cut, for how the sound caused Brandon physical inner pain.
"You stupid kid! I cant believe this! So you ran off and instead of thinking about hiding. You found yourself an ignorant little shit to screw around with!?" Jacob growled in his face. "Are you crazy or just fucking stupid! Why would you do that to yourself? You know you can't be with him Lil One." Jacobs gaze took on a heaviness that Brandon would have called sympathy in anyone else.
"You're a monster.... You certainly can't fuck him....We both know what happens to them when you try."
At this jab, that brought plenty of painful memories up to the surface, Brandon couldn't help the fresh tears that kissed his cheeks as he screamed Jacobs cruel tone away.
"I didn't mean for any of this to happen! I never planned to get captured you asshole! Do you think this is what I wanted to happen!"
Jacob wasn't moved. If anything Brandon's words simply made him more cold. Jacob said "I think there was a lot of shit that wasn't supposed to happen."
Then his lips writhed back from his teeth and six, giant fangs bared down at Brandon as the Lion within shuffled towards the surface.
"Like Nora? She wasn't supposed to happen either! And yet Lil One you just keep on managing to fuck up! You keep getting people killed! You and your mistakes!"
A horrified gasp ripped out of his throat, leaving him heaving as he screamed back in Jacobs face.
"You're blaming me for Nora! It was you that got her killed!! You betrayed us!"
Suddenly Brandon jerked on the men holding his arms. He felt the males jolt in shock as he nearly ripped himself free. They clearly underestimated his strength. He could feel himself going off the deep end and he didn't care. Brandon knew that this was all going to total shit. Jacob was going to kill Ezekiel if he could. The past sat like a giant burning wall between them....but the present! In this moment Brandon couldn't care less about their past!
The Guardian that he cared so much about made him want to tear Jacob apart. He struggled and spit and screamed and for a moment Brandon saw a slight hesitation enter Jacobs eyes. Perhaps he saw something in Brandon's eyes, something dark, because that made him step back as Brandon surged forwards almost ripping his hands free and tearing Jacobs clothes in his fury.
"Leave him alone!!! Im warning you Ja. I swear on you're dead body, unlike Nora, I PROMISE you If you hurt him...I'll kill you Ja! Do you hear me! Ill fucking rip you apart!!"
Brandon shouted so viscerally that he almost thought he was roaring.
"Be quiet Brandon!" Jacob roared using Brandon's name for the first time as he marched up to him and snatched up his chin in his left hand aggressively jerking him forward from the male Lions that were just barely still holding Brandon's arms.
" You have no right to stand here in defense of anything!! You killed her. You and your childish naiveties killed Nora. Its killed a lot of people. Its destroyed a lot of things. You destroyed....so many sacred things! Do you think you have the right to demand anything of me after what you've done....!" Jacob snarled in his face.
But where Brandon should have been cowed by the fury bleeding out of Jacobs glowing eyes, he simply sent the lion a look of utter disgust and defiance....before cocking back suddenly and spitting into Jacobs face.
With no hesitation or stopping to dash away the spittle on his chin, Jacob reared back and slammed his claws forward.
Instantly a fine mist of blood colored the air as Brandon collapsed from the sudden attack. And lay completely still in the soil as the lions who had been holding him flinched back from the cruel blow.
