"Come on Y/N it'll be fun! It's a masquerade party! No one will know who you are!" Your best friend had been trying to convince you all afternoon to go to a party they were invited to. It was a Mardi gras themed party and so everyone had to wear a mask of their choosing. It sounded fun but it had been such a long work week and Y/N was not particularly excited about going out.

"Can't I just stay here? Won't you know people there? Why do I have to go" You groaned, looking away from your TV to look at them, raising an eyebrow in their direction.

"Because I'll look lame showing up by myself. Just please come we don't have to stay long" They whined actually falling to their knees now holding their hands together begging up at you. They pulled their puppy eyes out, popping their lips. Y/N just giggled a little staring at their best friend and let out an exaggerated huff.

"Fine. But when I say I am done I am done okay?" She gave them a serious look and they nodded quickly jumping up and running back to their room calling out that they were going to start to get ready.

Y/N just laughed and nodded, getting up off the couch and heading to her room. She had a beautiful rainbow dress that was short and sequined, perfect for a masquerade party. She hopped in the shower really quickly, cleaning herself up before putting the dress on and giving herself a simple face of makeup, considering the mask would be covering most of her face. Her friend knew she had that dress and had already bought a beautiful golden mask for her to wear with the dress, it was a nice combination.

Once they were both ready they ordered an uber and were on their way.

"Y/N for someone who didn't want to go out tonight you look exceptionally gorgeous." your friend laughed a little looking you up and down in the dress you were wearing. Y/N just laughed a little shaking her head playing with her mask in her lap.

"Well you never know who I could meet tonight, I might meet a handsome prince." She joked

nudging her friend as they continued light conversation on their way to the party.

When the uber stopped they both climbed out thanking the driver and headed into the building. The hosts were having it at someone's house, a large house. As Y/N put her mask on and tied it on her head she examined the house. It had a gate and was fenced all around, she could see a pool and a skateboard ramp in the backyard. Whoever lived here had a lot of money.

Walking up to the door your friend just opened it and walked right in and immediately she saw a sea of people ahead of her. Y/N was never very good when it came to crowds so she just latched onto her friends arm and let them drag her around the very full house. They snaked their way through all of these people to find the kitchen immediately going over to the alcohol to pour themselves drinks.

The two had basically made their base in the kitchen, not seeing much of a reason to leave since if they finished their drinks they wouldn't have to shove a hundred people just to make it back to the kitchen to make themselves another. But also due to their spot they got drunk very quickly with the easy access to the alcohol. Y/N was laughing and having a good time in no time at all. She was dancing and singing just letting go. Y/N's friend bumped into an old friend and got dragged away by them. It was fine, she wanted to wander and explore this house.

With her drink she snuck out of the kitchen and found a staircase. She looked around and quickly went up when she saw no one was watching. It was such a beautiful house. Wood floors with a lovely black rug that was laid in each hallway. The walls were a soft gray holding up tons and tons of photos. They were kind of random photos, through them she couldn't quite tell whose house it really was.

While deeply and drunkenly leaning against the wall and staring at the photos she didn't notice someone had come up, noticed her and walked away into one of the rooms. Y/N was broken out of her trance with the door closing. She looked down the hallway not knowing which door had made the noise. This got her attention and she confidently headed down the hallway. With no real care at all she walked into one room and quickly closed the door behind her. She liked thinking she was being sneaky.
