Sapnap - Royalty

It started out simply. Y/N started working at the castle as a handmaiden. Specifically the prince's maid, Nick. The prince was a care free man, and had simple pleasures in life. He went on hunting trips with his friends, he went to the pubs as much as he could but being the prince he could never stay long before crowds would form. Everyone loved him, and every girl wanted to become his princess.

Most days Y/N stayed quiet and to herself as she cleaned his room and bathroom. He wasn't there much but when he was he was always very polite. He would normally sit at the round table placed in the middle of his very large room, he would pour himself a glass of ale and just have casual conversations with her. Y/N always stayed respectful of the prince and only referred to him as the prince, normally keeping her head down but Nick didn't like that. After a bunch of these moments happened he stopped her mid conversation.

"I don't want you calling me that" Nick said seriously with a straight and calm face staring directly at Y/N. She looked up slightly from polishing the table and made eye contact with him. She squinted her eyes a little bit trying to read this situation for the best for her. He is the prince and getting direct orders from him was more important than from your own boss. Technically Nick is your boss's boss.

"I want you to call me Nick when we're here. The two of us.." He said the last part a little quieter and took a sip of his ale still looking at Y/N. She nodded and smiled a little bit at him.

"Alright, well Nick as I was saying.." Y/N said before going back to polishing and Nick just smiled staring at her listening to the rest of the story.

As time went on Y/N would show up to Nick's room and basically everything would already be cleaned and there he would be sitting at his table with ale already poured, waiting for her arrival. She would try to clean the things that he had missed but every time she would start he would call her back over to the table.

Soon enough Y/N was never in his room cleaning anymore. She would arrive, close his doors and sit down at the table with him and enjoy one another company. What Nick liked about her was that she had no intentions of being with him. Every girl he meets they are always throwing themselves at him, wanting to become his princess, and one day Queen when Nick's father steps down from the throne. Y/N didn't hide who she was to impress him, she was who she was and was never apologetic about that, Nick liked that a lot.

One afternoon when Y/N had gotten to Nick's room to "clean" he wasn't there. His room was organized but hadn't been cleaned up the same way Nick had been doing for her. She tried thinking nothing of it. She had to remind herself at the end of the day she is a maid, and he is a prince, his time was far too precious to spend with her.

She ignored the thoughts and just started to clean his bathroom. While scrubbing his tub Y/N sat up hearing loud booming voices from the corridor outside of his room. She kept to herself continuing to clean but also listening in to the conversation as best as she could.

"Get more towels! Needles and thread now!" She heard a loud voice yell, and got louder at the end of his sentence before the door swung open. Nick walked in with a few guards around him causing Y/N to stand up shocked by the sudden burst in.

"I am fine, leave me be!" Nick yelled at them walking right to his table where his glass and pitcher of ale were sat. He poured the glass practically till it was over flowing and picked it up spilling it all over his own hand chugging more than half of the drink down. Y/N noticed his white blouse had a large rip in the shoulder and it was red with fresh blood. Without thinking she ran up to Nick to take a look. Before she got too close she stopped and they made eye contact. Nick smiled a bit to himself seeing her concern for him but it quickly faded when she looked away from him and at the guards. Her head immediately fell and she turned away to grab towels and stayed quiet.
