"Anyway, we should talk instead of trying to rip each other's throats out." I say, adjusting so that I could see both of them and still lay down. "First of all, proper introductions."
"Hello, psycho. My name is Chloe Bourgeois." Chloe says sarcastically, holding out her hand. Cht growls again.
"We've met."
"Yeah, we have." Chloe says, dropping her hand. "You tried to kill me."
"I meant before that, Bourgeois." Chat hisses. "You were a brat back then, I remember but you weren't a bully. You were actually a kind of good person."
"You knew Chloe before too?" I ask him, remembering how he told me he had known me years before. "Who are you?" I ask him. "What's your real name?" Chat smiles sadly.
"Sorry, Princess. But you're not getting the answer to that." He chuckles but I hear the pain behind it. "Maybe one day. But not now." I hear the door to my room open again and, again, Chat disappears in a flash.
"He's good at that." Chloe remarks. I bring a finger to my lips anxiously.
"Who is?" I turn to find my blonde escort standing right next to my door. Chloe's eyes widen and she blushes.
"Boyfriend." She says, looking away as if ashamed. She winks at me and I get the message and close my eyes and groan.
"TMI, Bourgeois." I tell her, rubbing my eyes. "I doubt I'll ever get that image out of my head. I've met him before, you know that, right?" Chloe blushes again and I marvel at what an excellent actress she is.
"Oh, yeah? What's his name?" My escort asks, crossing his arms across his chest. I think fast and come up with a name of a boy I've seen Chloe giggling over before.
"Luka." I say. Chloe's eyes widen and she blushes even harder.
"Dupain-Cheng!" She exclaims, covering her face with her hands. I had a feeling she wasn't acting anymore.
"I see." He says, dropping his arms.
"Say," I sit up the best I can before falling back against my pillow. I had forgotten I was sick for a bit there. "What's your name? The guy at the precinct introduced you as Sergeant Graham de Vanily. Is that what you want us to call you?"
"My first name is Felix. You can call me that, if you wish." I nod.
"Felix." I say, trying it out. "Much easier to pronounce than Sergeant Graham de Vanily."
"Shorter, too." Chloe says. "Don't I know you?" She asks, looking directly at Felix.
"We have met, yes. I didn't like you." Chloe bristles and I laugh. "You mostly hung out with my cousin."
"Who's that?" I ask.
"I'm surprised you don't know. You both used to go to school with him. It's-" A phone starts ringing, interrupting Felix. Felix reaches back and pulls out his phone, which was the one ringing. "Sorry. I gotta go. I just wanted to stop by to check up on you. I'll see you later."
