I tried asking him where he was taking me but the wind stole my words. He looked down at me, like he knew I tried to speak but he kept running. I closed my eyes, starting to feel dizzy as shapes blurred together.
"Marinette, wake up! You're going to be late, dear!" I opened my eyes sleepily to my mom, shaking me awake. I sat bolt upright in bed and looked around frantically. "Are you alright, dear?"
"Where am I...?" I trailed off as my room came into focus.
"You're in bed. Are you okay, honey?" My mom put her hand to my forehead and gasped. "Marinette, you're burning up! You have to stay in bed today, sweetie." My mom helps me lay back down then goes downstairs to get me some hot soup and to call the school and the precinct, letting them know I wasn't going to school today.
"Mom, what happened last night?" I asked when she came back up and helped me set everything up so it was easier for me.
"Your father and I saw you run outside and we went out looking for you. We tried calling you but you didn't pick up. We were out almost all night searching for you before I convinced your father we'd never find you in the rain. We came back home and dried off so we wouldn't get sick. The rain started to let up and we were about to go out again when we heard a sound come from your room. We ran up to check what it was."
"What was it?" I asked when she stayed quiet.
"It was nothing. We found you on your chaise, safe and sound. Your clothes were dry but your hair was wet, almost as if you had gone out, taken a shower and put on fresh, clean clothes. Do you remember coming home last night, dear?"
I shake my head. My mom frowns then shakes her head and smiles.
"You have a guardian angel watching over you." I jerked but my mom didn't seem to notice. She climbed down from my bed and left after making sure I was all good. I remembered the events of last night. Running out into the rain, worried about Chloe getting killed by...
"I know you're here, Chat." I said aloud. It was quiet for a second but then I heard a sound from above. I looked up and Chat Blanc dropped in from my roof through the door on the ceiling. He landed gracefully in my bed and turned around and made himself comfortable.
"How are you feeling today, Princess?" He asked, smiling softly at me. I scowl at him and cross my arms.
"Is Chloe okay?" I ask. He looks surprised. "What?"
"That's your first question?" He asks.
"What did you expect? Did you want me to ask how old you were?" He grins.
"Not much older than you, Princess." He tells me, winking. I roll my eyes.
"That wasn't my question." I remind him. He scowls. "Are you jealous?" I ask him. "Answer the question. About Chloe, I mean."
