All week it had been the same, Pete hadn't done anything to forward the halt of teasing but finally it was Friday, meaning football games, band shows and the famous bonfire.
After the game the girls told Mikey they had to pee before leaving for the fire but in reality they were going to corner Pete.
You'd think that a football player would be stronger than two lesbians, nope, those girls were pissed and protective.
"What do you think you're doing?" Cass hissed
"Going to the bonfire?" He tried.
"With Mikey you dumb sack of butter." Kayla retorted.
Pete would never admit he is afraid of the girls... but he definitely was.
"Look, you break his heart, we break you" Cass twists his arm, then he reflects that with a pain filled twisted face "I don't care about your precious football game."
With a small turn around and a whip of their hair, the girls turned around and left, returning to Mikey.
About thirty minutes into the drunken bonfire Pete stole Mikey away again, but this time with different intentions.
Pete grabbed the boy's hand as the dark consumed them, only the dim moonlight shining their way.
"You know Mikeyway, I owe you a proper date" Pete smiles
"Oh?" Mikey questions, still feeling like he has to watch his every move with him or he'll startle him like a little deer.
"Yeah. I've made a lot of shitty mistakes so I'm gonna make it up to you 'kay"
Mikey nods with a smile that Pete happy returned, resting his forehead on the other boy's. It's the simplest touch of the one you love that makes all the difference. The warm embrace the two shared strengthened who they were together and as individuals.

Sunday afternoon Mikey paced back and forth at his closet whilst the girls sat on his bed. Why is he fretting so much over this date? Its silly.
"What about this shirt?" Mikey questioned the two girls.
"If you wanna look like Alice Cooper before he turned into the walking dead." Kayla critiqued
Mikey sighed, feeling stressed.
"Wear something super tight, pop those buns of steel" Kayla giggles
"Uptown slut him up so Pete will uptown fuck him up" Cass comments, receiving an approving high five from her girlfriend.
"Look Mikes, just pick out something like the first day of school. Cool but not try hard." Cass suggested
"Yeah but he's Pete..." Mikey emphasises
"Yeah yeah. Total Jock. Not band emo. When worlds collide" Kayla rolls her eyes, popping another grape in her mouth "he should like you for who you are. Where whatever the fuck you wanna"
Mikey smiled "even pre walking dead Alice Cooper?"
"Except that" Kayla cringed.
Mikey looked at his closet with new eyes and chose a plain black v-neck with a black button up jacket due to the chill in the air. He walks over to the mirror putting on a grey beanie leaving small parts of his caramel hair peeking out over his forehead.
"Awe, my baby's growing up" Kayla cooed as she and Cass hugged him. Luckily, the doorbell rang, saving him from the crushing strength of lesbianism, though it posed the next problem: Pete vs. The lesbians. You know when you have to meet the dates parents and it's awkward and stressful and embarrassing? Well times that by millions and that's how Pete feels.
