Flashing lights pulse red, blue, and green as music blares from speakers, peaking every now and then but no one cares. Sweaty bodies grinding against each other, filled with lustful eyes, playful smirks dance across lips, but that's all that can be seen, everything else blurring together.
Chanhee was starting to regret his decision to join Sunwoo, maybe he could have gotten them to stay home, watched a movie or two from the comfort of their apartment, and yet here he was with a collared shirt and black jeans, a coat in arms, and a phone in one hand, hoping Sunwoo would want to leave early but knowing Sunwoo, that was only wishful thinking. He's just the designated driver, but did he really have to be here the entire night?
"Hey there." Chanhee was snapped from his daydream to a man in a leather jacket. A plain cropped white shirt, his black high waisted pants connected by a slightly jeweled belt. His hair stood up, exposing his forehead, giving a mature look for such a youthful looking face. Chanhee looked to his sides seeing people already engrossed in conversations, and in eachothers mouths before looking to the floor where Sunwoo stood talking with another good looking guy. "Hey?" The man tried again politely, reminding Chanhee to respond.
"Oh, um, hi." Chanhee wasn't sure why this random dude was talking to him, maybe he looked lonely and the guy felt bad? Maybe he was dared? Chanhee mentally smacked himself for that thought, what was this? Middle school?
"What're you doing here alone?" The man decided to sit next to Chanhee, crossing one leg over the other, propping his chin upon his hand, getting a good look into Chanhee's face.
"I'm actually," Chanhee felt himself become more and more anxious, now conscious of the attention the other man was giving. "I." Chanhee looked back into the leather jacketed man's eyes, a mistake on his part, feeling himself almost get lost in a dark ocean. Like a siren's song, Chanhee was a clueless sailor falling right into the unknown's trap, enraptured by the song she sang. "I'm here with a friend." Somehow he managed to steer the boat away, and breathe again, mind starting to dissipate the fog.
"Who's your friend?"
"Why do you care?" Chanhee snapped back, not able to think straight, the fog was dissipating, not completely gone.
"Easy there, just curious if I knew the guy, is he friends with Eric?"
Chanhee had never heard of this Eric, but Sunwoo never really discussed things related to work or that didn't concern Chanhee, meaning he didn't know many of Sunwoo's other friends.
"I'm, I'm not too sure, he doesn't really talk about work or his other friends."
"And you still trust him?" The guy had uncrossed his legs, now leaning back on the banquette they sat on.
"I don't see why I wouldn't, they don't really concern me, and I trust him to hang around good people." Chanhee shrugged, looking up and over to the stranger. Chanhee had no idea but somehow the mysterious man had grabbed a drink and was now swivelling the cocktail glass, watching the red liquid squish around. He then turned his head and cocked a brow at Chanhee. "Besides, it's his life at the end of the day."
After moments of silent swishing and sipping of alcohol from the other male, the man readjusted his position once again, stretching a hand to Chanhee.
"Ji Changmin, and you?"
Chanhee stuttered out his name in confusion, "Chanhee, Chanhee." He shook the other hand, it was cold from the glass and being out in the open air, unlike Chanhee's which were burning up, rubbing against each other in a nervous fit.
"Well Chanhee, I'll be honest, I'm quite bored and don't care to be here, you also don't seem to be enjoying yourself, how about you grab your friend and we leave this place?" Changmin seemed to keep surprising him with each sentence, he was happy that Changmin didn't forget his friend, but Chanhee didn't think it was possible to convince Sunwoo to leave. Even if he could, he didn't see why he'd follow a random stranger out of the club. Chanhee felt like he was running out of air the longer he stayed but this was still some random person, for all he knew, the guy could be a criminal in hiding. Just as he thought this he got a text from Sunwoo himself.
"Hey, no need to worry about me. Met this super cute guy, somehow he confirmed he's gay so I think I might get laid tonight." Chanhee nearly wanted to puke at the last part, but like the good friend he was, he wasn't going to just let Sunwoo get taken away by a possible murderer. Scanning the room to see if they were in close proximity, Chanhee saw Sunwoo and his red hair with the brown hair, good looking guy from before. Squinting harder, Chanhee started to recognize items of clothes before realizing who Sunwoo's mystery man was.
"Oh my gosh that's Haknyeon! What the hell is he doing at a club? How'd he get with Sunwoo? What in the wattpad is this?" After all the internal shock, Chanhee was able to sigh knowing Sunwoo was in good hands, just to be sure he messaged Haknyeon to confirm that he was at a club with a dude named Sunwoo.
"What the hell, are you stalking me lol?" Was the message he got, yup, Sunwoo was safe, stupidly, and coincidentally safe.
Still a little shaken from having his two friends meeting for the first time sexually or romantically, Chanhee nearly forgot about the cute boy before him. "Are you alright?" Tuning back in by blinking rapidly, Chanhee hesitated before breaking into a small but sweet smile.
"Yeah, let's go." Changmin smirked a bit, before humming,
"What about your friend?" Chanhee couldn't help but laugh a little, feeling the atmosphere become lighter.
"He's in good hands, don't worry."
"And what about you? How do you know I won't kill you?"
"Well, at least the last thing I see will be cute!" Chanhee beamed, only taking in what he said a few seconds after. Changmin didn't seem bothered and his smirk seemed to grow a bit more, having dimples as the proof Chanhee needed.
=====================================
F*ck Up The Friendship was only 6.5k, but I split it into 6 chapters just because I know people are busy and 6k can be a lot for some people.
So I'm doing the same here, splitting this into bite sized chapters for enjoyable consumption!
I'll be posting chapters whenever I finish editing them (so this fic will be done by the end of this week).
Take care, and stan Conan Gray
