I know it's been forever since I've updated. I just have lost all my motivation to write recently. Work, school, and no motivation makes for bad updates. Sorry.

Lifting her head to touch her lips to his, the sound of someone clearing their throat awoke Ana and Elvis from a paralyzing daze. Assessing their seemingly compromising position, Elvis jumped back quickly. “I-I’m sorry… I-I —“

“Don’t be,” Ana whispered quietly, surprising herself. What the hell was that?

It was then that the two noticed a rather stunned looking Audrey standing in front of them. Ana blushed deeply. “What on earth is going on here?” Audrey asked eyeing Ana skeptically. “One day you’re biting the man’s head off in front of half the town, the next you two are cozy friends? Sometimes I feel like I don’t even know you, Ana.”

Ana smiled sheepishly. “Oh, Audrey… this is Aaron Sley. Aaron, this is my best friend and boss, Audrey.”

“Very nice to meet you Audrey,” Elvis charmed and he reached out and shook Audrey’s hand.

“And the same to you Aaron.” Audrey nodded in return giving him a slight smile before switching back into her ‘all-business mode’. “Now, Ana, you and your ‘friend’ are going to have to loiter when there isn’t any work to be done. Customers very well may walk in any minute now, and you need to get moving with the rest of your work.”

“I know, Aud. I will no problem.” Ana assured as Audrey walked off back into the kitchen.

Turning to Aaron, Ana smiled, “I guess she’s right. I am on the clock right now.”

“I should leave you to your work. I just had to come down and apologize this morning. I couldn't live with myself if I didn’t… But I guess I’ll see you around sometime?” Elvis turned and began slowly walking out.

“Yeah, I’ll see you… sometime…” She repeated.

Elvis felt something strange about this girl. Something pulled him to her and he didn't know what it was. Maybe it was the way she smiled, or the way her worn out dress seemed to cling to her curves perfectly, or maybe it was plain loneliness on his part; he hadn't the slightest idea. All he knew was that he wanted to see her again and soon.

Stopping mid step, Elvis swung around. “Hey, I know you’re probably busy tonight. But here I am new an-all, and I was thinkin' maybe you could show me around the town when you get off?” Elvis asked. “I’ve gotta to say, you’re the first friend I’ve made since I’ve been in these parts, and it gets pretty lonely on that mountain.”

“Sure,” Ana agreed. “I get off at 4:00.” Excitement bubbled within her at his words. Had he just asked her on a date? Of course not you dummy! A man that looks half as good as him doesn’t ask girls like you on dates! He probably has a girlfriend in every state for all you know. FRIENDS.. Did you not hear him?

Elvis grinned. “Well, Anastasia, 4:00 it is.”

The day seemed to roll right along for Elvis once he had left the diner that morning. He tried to plan out the evening for his ‘date’ with Ana (if you could even call it a date), but there were so many unknown factors that none of his ideas sounded remotely plausible. How do normal fellas do this? He thought to himself.

When Elvis arrived at the diner around four, Ana was busy sweeping and didn't notice him walk in. He slid into one of the empty chairs and waited for her to finish up her work. When she finally finished sweeping the last of the crumbs off of the floor, she looked up and spotted Elvis. She smiled shyly and scooted off to the back to put away her broom and apron.

“I’ll see you tomorrow, Audrey!” Ana called. “I’m out of here for the night.”

“Okay, have a good night Ana! See you then.”

Elvis stood as Ana walked over towards him. “Hi there,” he greeted.

“Hi,” she giggled.

He smiled as he grabbed her hand.

“Where do you wanna go?” she blushed as his hand engulfed hers.

“Well, I’ve been around a few of the shoppes and such so far, but I think I’d like you to show me what you locals know about this town. Like your favorite places and the sights that not every good ole tourist gets to see.”

Ana nodded, “I think I can manage that,” she teased and began walking towards the door. “Well come on now, let’s get a move on before it gets dark.”

Elvis laughed and opened the door for her as they made their way out onto the street.
