AZULA!

She was feeding the turtle duck, she swears! Azula watched Zuzu spend so many hours at the pond she thought she should try it.

Azula just had a very grilling training session and needed to calm down from all the stupidity around her, so adorable turtle ducks it was.

She took a loaf of slightly burned bread from the kitchen (really she was doing the cooks a favor, Father would fire them if it was served to them) and tore pieces of the still-warm bread into the water.

By the time all the bread was gone and the duckies were well fed Azula felt much better. Still not ready to deal with people, especially father, so she tossed rocks.

Skipping a few and just watching the others sink, Zuzu almost always sinks. But Azula was a prodigy, but you can only go so high for so long, what if she started to sink to?

No, no, no, no. She was Princess Azula, prodigy firebender and strategist, favored child of Firelord Ozai, and pride of the Fire Nation.

While deep in thought one of the rocks got a little too close to the babies, and it screeched. Which scared the Mama which attracted the attention of a certain someone Azula would have rather stayed away from.

"Zula! What are you doing to these poor animals?" Princess Ursa exclaims (she stopped being Mom a while ago)

"N-nothing I swear!"

"Hmph, don't lie to me. Come here young lady."

"But Ursa!"

"Don't Ursa me! I'm your mother! And you are going to your room right now!"

"But- but-"

"No buts!" Ursa screams, dragging her screaming daughter inside the palace and hand painfully tight around Azula's wrist. The guards looked at the princess with fake sympathy, but it looked much more like pity to her.

"Mom! I didn't do anything! I was just feeding them! Like Zuko!"

"With rocks? Don't try and fool me, and don't you dare use your brother as an excuse for your actions!"

"But mother!"

"Don't start calling me mother just because you want something from me! That's it, no dinner for you!"

"Mother I'm starving, I had a really long training session today and haven't been able to eat yet-"

"Stop with the excuses and lies Azula!"

"Moth-"

"Enough!" Ursa raised her hand and smacked Zula across her cheek, not horribly hard but enough to sting badly and leave a red splotch. Slamming the door in her face, Ursa stormed off, leaving Azula shocked and upset in her unlit room.

Leaving the room in its darkness, Azula calmly slips out of her training gear and into shorts and a tank, covering herself in a slightly oversized silk cloak. Curling up into a ball in the corner farthest away from the windows and door.

And started sobbing.

A few minutes later there was a small knock at her door, which she completely ignored, in no mood to play the perfect scary princess again. But the visitor came in anyway, despite the room appearing empty.

"Lula? Are you in here?"
