there are things in this life, that we can't fully understand. and sometimes, that is due to the fact it doesn't want to be understood. and other times, no one even cares enough to want to understand it.
in regards to harlow grace, though, she was the type who never really gave a reason to be understood. but how could she, when she couldn't even understand herself why she was the way she was?
she was a mystery.
a mystery in the sense that no one knew what she was going to do. no one knew what was going on in her head. and certainly, no one could understand her frequent, yet unforeseeable change of mood.
she was unpredictable, almost as if you had to keep an eye on her at all times in order to make sure she wouldn't do something she would soon regret.
there was so much that was going on in her brilliant mind. so much, that she was terrified to bring to light, and this alone, lead her to push those who got too close to the truth away from her.
she was in a constant loop of terror, which could only be satisfied by the feeling of the wall she kept up. she was trapped in her own mind. encased in the small sense of comfort that no one really knew her.
and no one could use her true self against her. they could only use the deceptive version of herself.
she put on a face, everywhere she went. keeping that smile plastered on, in order to keep people away from finding out the truth.
because, once they found out the truth- the truth that she had kept hidden deep down for so long- it would all be gone.
there would be no persona.
no protective shield.
and the guarded parts of herself that no one could harm her with would be broken.
who would like her for the real her? and who would hate her?
despite these questions that she asked herself everyday, she still thought of who would wonder why? why did she keep herself hidden? her true self. the self destructive version that could set fire to your world if you let it?
that was a question he wanted answered.
it was one he needed answered.
but as he grew closer to finding out the truth, the more the questions piled up.
and the more she had become a mystery.
