After the C-17 landed, the ground teams unloaded the SASR vehicles as Rapier team and other teams came into their barracks with their whole equipment before settling in, knowing they would need each single minute to be properly used to the local climate, which was hot and humid in summer but cold and dry in winter.
While Grace settled in her bed, she put her equipment onto her bed while Greg, Bill, Rick, Dan and Brock settled in their own bed. Suddenly, Grace thought of something.
She then asked, « Guys, what are we going to do from tonight on ? »
« Well, first of all, our mission briefing will be very exhaustive, since it's still broad daylight here. Then, we'll travel at night before perfoming our raids. » Greg explained to his single female colleague.
Grace nodded just as an intelligence officer came in their quarters and motioned Rapier team to follow him to the briefing room. There, Grace and the others would have their job for the night explained to them. Once there, they saw other spec ops operatives sitting for their briefing before the intelligence officer began talking.
« Okay, guys. Our targets for today is an individuals named Stovan Stepanek. SASR Rapier team will catch Stepanek in his hideout, with some assistance from the American Nightstalkers. As you can see, they're entranched into a single-floor rectangular building near an old school, an abandoned warehouse and a newly-refurbished appartment. But remember, it's an urban environment so watch where you shoot. Now get prepared for tonight. » the officer said.
As the operatives involved in the mission went back to their quarters, where they retrieved their equipment and loaded their suppressed weapons before going to their vehicles. The SASR operatives then went to the US Army Nightstalkers' helicopters, where Grace, Bill, Greg, Dan, Rick and Brock sat inside a MH-60K Blackhawk escorted by two AH-6J Little Birds. Just as Rapier team was set, the helicopters took off and headed towards the target.
Inside the MH-60K, Grace was nervously stroking her M4A1 carbine while the other members of the team confidently checked theirs before the American pilot stopped two kilometers away from target to maintain the effect of surprise. Once there, the door gunner motioned the team to prepare to rope down. Grace caught a rope on the left side alongside Greg and Dan while Brock, Bill and Rick took one on the right side of the helicopter. As the US Army gunner suddenly lowered his hand, the team roped down on a nearby rooftop before securing the area as the helicopters threw the ropes, left the area and flew higher to be less noisy.
Then, Grace and the rest of Rapier team followed Brock from one rooftop to another before being eventually forced to cross the street, reaching the target building in total silence. While walking through the unusually quiet streets and rooftops, Rapier team was an invisible threat, since none of Stepanek's henchmen had any night-vision device. This naturally allowed Grace and her fellow commandos to travel by foot unnoticed.
Once at the target building, Brock motioned Grace to prepare a flashbang grenade. Grace took her M84 stun grenade right before Brock kicked the door open. Just then, Grace tossed her stun grenade in the building, triggering a blinding flash before Grace and Brock came inside first, followed by Bill and Rick. The foursome then shot one of Stepanek's henchmen each before pushing on with their advance. Brock followed Grace while Bill and Rick searched the bathroom. Greg and Dan went inside last as they switched to their MP5SD6 submachine gun after slinging their heavy weapons across their chest.
« Clear ! » Bill reported on the radio right as he and Rick killed four other henchmen.
Finding nothing, not even under the furniture, after killing five last henchmen with some help from Dan, Greg replied, « Nothing in there ! »
Just as Brock found nothing even if he and Grace killed the last five henchmen, Grace had the very good idea to search under the bed and found a shocked and surprised Stepanek. Grace immediately pointed her M4A1 carbine at the weaopons dealer.
The young girl forced him up his knees before hancuffing Stepanek before Brock blindfolded the trafficker. Brock then took his radio as he brought Stepanek to the main rooftop where he met Dan, Rick, Bill and Rick. Grace meanwhile took some files, paperclips and even Stepanek's laptop as evidence before joining the others on the rooftop just as they motioned the helicopters to land.
After their transport landed, Rapier team and their prisoner boarded the Blackhawk before leaving the area behind them.
