After their successful night raid, Rapier team was brought in the briefing room alongside other special operations teams for military information updates. Once in the briefing room, Lieutenant-Colonel Robinson and Colonel Perez walked to the briefing screen and motioned everyone to sit down. Grace and the others sat down before listening closely to the briefing.
« Okay, guys. Here are the updated information about the operations. First, Stepanek's laptop provided great details on his trafficking activities. We now know he supplied terrorist groups such as ISIS, AQ or the LRA with weapons and explosives before supplying the group we're trying to dismantle. We also discovered all of these groups are linked with the Army For the Lord in one way or another. Second, we discovered that these guys were planning a terror attack at some place not identified yet. Just stand by and be ready. Dismiss. » Perez said.
Just as Colonel Perez finished her briefing, she took her shemagh and wrapped it around her neck in case the female colonel would take part in a raid alongside the rest of the task force. Grace and the other special operatives then exited the briefing room and went to their quarters, where they too took a shemagh and wrapped it around their neck to prepare for any intervention.
Grace knew this Arab-designed piece of equipment was fairly practical, since it protected the operative from dust & sand while concealing his anonymity. The young Australian girl put her shemagh on her face right before the alarm bell rang.
« All assault units get to your Victors, we got a hostage situation. I repeat, we got a hostage situation requiring our intervention. » Lieutenant-Colonel Victoria Robinson informed.
Brock, Dan, Bill, Greg, Rick and Grace rushed out of their quarters with their complete equipment on them, including their loaded weapons, and jumped into the heavily-armed trucks and SUVs alongside fellow Australian, New Zealand, American, Irish, German, French, British, Hungarian, American, Cypriot, Greek, Italian, Danish, Lithuanian, Swedish, Estonian, Montengrin, Latvian, Polish and Georgian operatives who also hid their face with their shemagh.
Grace then sat behind the Browning M2 mounted on the rooftop of the heavily-armed Mercedes-Benz G-Class while the rest of the team sat in the other emplacements, with Colonel Perez sitting in a heavily-armed MARSOC Humvee, before all of the vehicles involved rolled out of the base. During the travel, Grace and Dan armed the machine guns on their vehicle like the other operatives did on theirs.
Once the convoy arrived on the site of a shopping mall, the lead vehicle came to an abrupt stop as the local police were being slaughtered by machine gun and rifle fire. A masked Colonel Perez then jumped out of the armored Humvee and went to the leading cop.
« What's the situation here ? » she asked the guy.
« Well, my men have arrived there first, but the first responders have gone silent. As you can see, the UN forces and us have came as reinforcements but the terrorists have taken hostages in that mall. I fear a very high death toll » the cop informed.
« We'll take care of this ! » Colonel Perez said. After turning to her operatives, she yelled, « Bring in the good boys ! »
As soon as Colonel Dawn Perez gave the order, some of the operatives opened the rear doors of eight armed SUVs and brought in nine dogs. The stunned cops and UN troops saw Grace and the other operatives bringing in their dogs for the hunt while Colonel Perez and her troops prepared their weapons for the impending assault.
Thanks to a map of the area, Perez was quick to set a plan in motion. Motioning every team leader to her command vehicle, Perez then began providing a quick overview of the situation.
« Alright everyone. We got numerous burning civilian and police vehicles we can use for cover. We'll assault the shopping mall from the main exit and the safety exit. Rapier, you're leading alongside Broadsword and Rambler teams at the main entrance. Racoon, Gator and Shark will take the safety exit while Walrus, Polar and Warrior teams will assault from the rooftop via ziplining from the highest building in the area. Others, you stay there with me. Any question ? » Perez briefed her operatives.
