Tyler Part 7

Our trip has been somewhat peacefully we haven't had any raider attacks nor has the mutated wildlife. Radspiders are the most common attacks although they are harmless, the kighter bears are somewhat common and fatal attacks. Kighter bears are bears that walk on two legs, they run really fast while swinging there sharp claws killing people with on average three hits.

Eal, Sabina, Honey, Miles, a few other Mutties and i have been out of Vill's town for three days now. Eal and i often talk as he walks along the carriage, we talk about nothing important. Honey sits beside me looking down and glowing actually while Miles and Sabina sit on the opposite side of the carriage in silence. I ignore the fact that something has happened between the three of them. Everything seems to be going so slow, the days, the nights, the carriage, that's the feeling only the real fact is that we are going normal speed along with night and day. Other than Eal and I talking nothing much happens, in the mornings Honey gets nauseous around any food and if she does eat it comes right back up, i'm not sure what is actually going on with her, she can be sick or it could be stress, it can be a lot of things. I am concerned about her but i ain't a doctor so truth be told whatever i think it is doesn't really matter. The first thing i will do when we get to Apple Tree settlement is take her to see the doctor.

The time finally came when it was time for us to part ways. Eal and the others aren't allowed to go close to Apple Tree Settlement because the guards will shoot them, that's what Eal says anyway. They drop us off at an intersection on the broken, barley visible highway with a two posted blue sign saying Apple Tree Settlement 1 Mile. With all the generosity that they have given us i thought it was fair to give them an extended goodbye. Honey, Miles and Sabina say their and start walking off while i stay at the carriage talking to Eal and the others, they will be alright it is only one mile which isn't far. The day is hot, stinking hot and the dessert rests throwing it's dust around dragging tumble weeds with it. The first thought that comes to mind when i think of Vegas is green. I lone to see plants, grass, gardens and Vegas is a rich city especially the small town that has only a few buildings left but they are in perfect condition with electricity and clean water. It is still hot there but at least with all the rich people and bossiness they have air conditioning and pools, perfect escape from the never ending summer.
"Where you go after this Tyler?" Eal snaps me back into reality and out of my dream.
"What? Oh, Vegas i think."
"Vegas good. I have brother live near Vegas in big, big camp. You go there and say hi from Eal?"
"I didn't know you had a brother Eal. Yeah what is his name?"
"Lial. He leader of a camp called Stareshire, it on big hill with a big tiger statue." Before Eal goes on to tell me more about his brothers camp we hear shouting, screaming. Eal passes me one of there assault rifles and signals me to follow him down the road Honey, Miles and Sabina had walked down. There voices get louder and louder and when we finally reach them we hide behind a large highway side used to advertise Apple Tree Settlement again. We pay closer attention to what they are saying but it is nor Sabina, Miles or Honey's voice that i hear, it is Bleak's and Hayden's and Missy's voice along with a few other people. My heart jumps into my throat.

"He is not hear you son of a bitch!" Honey snarls at Bleak as i peer around the side of the sign watching it all fold out.
"Honey? Is this the darling sister that your shit bird brother spoke so highly about?" Bleak laughs walking circles around the three of them. Bleak wears a suit and a hat, pretty fancy for the leader of the Rangers right? Bleak is rich and he likes to show it off even though he has no class what so ever. He is a drunk, a drug addict and a pig. His 235 luxury cruiser (which is a weird looking car that has the numbers 235 as a hood ornament) sits behind Hayden and Missy, the small group of three members of the Rangers are standing further away from the 235 watching Bleak.
"Yeah and your that ass who kills people for a living. Your brother and you are weak spineless idiots. For the last time Tyler is not here! He left! Ran away to California." Oh Honey you are such a good liar but Bleak has his ways. Miles and Sabina look at each other with confusion and strength in them. They are like speaking to each other with there minds.

"You think i'm going to believe that? You think i'm some sort of idiot?"
"Well that's what i called you!" Bleak back hands Honey in the face as if it were on instinct.
"It was a rhetorical question." He looks over her waiting, wanting to see her cry, to see her weak but she doesn't show any weakness and just glares up at him.
"Is that all you got?" She rudely spitting to the side.
"Oh no baby doll, there is more to this show but you gotta pay the price to see it and at the moment you aren't worth it." He continues to walk around them looking off into the surrounding area, i duck behind the sign looking up at Eal. "Tyler I know your out there! You always were a spineless wimp. Your friends and sister are out here and you hide. What about we spice things up? I have a bullet in this revolver here and i'm going to spin the revolver and put it back in and hold it against one of there heads. First contestant is Sabina." I can't risk letting him see me but i hear the click of the revolver and i flinch. "The next is Miles. Might i ad Miles you are one hell of a looker." He pulls the trigger again and like before i flinch. "Lucky last Honey, your darling sister." My heart races really fast now and when he pulls the trigger and the click follows i'm so glad.

A small voice starts. "What the hell did you just say sunshine?" Bleak arrogantly yells.
"Bleak it's almost sun down and we have to get you back to the camp for that meeting you have with the Yonk tribe and the alliance." The unknown voice replies.
"Yes that's right." Bleak understandably laughs as if it's some kind of joke. I hear the crunch of the rocky ground and then Bleak saying "Okay shoot the sister, hand the deformed girl to Missy and sell the other one. Let's see if Tyler will come out then." He says loud and clear "Shoot him and bring his body back with you. Don't disappoint me Hayden." The sound of a car door slamming shut echos and the 235's engine starts as the car pulls away.

Hayden waits a bit before saying "Okay let's get this over and done with." I peer around the sign and see Hayden walking up to Honey and without uttering a single word her lifts the revolver up and aims it right at Honey's abdomen. One click and BOOM.... He shoots Honey in the stomach, Miles and Sabina scream. I shake gripping my assault rifle so tight running out from behind the sign. Eal is behind me screaming and just like that the other Mutties come out of nowhere.

"Eal don't kill him keep him alive!" I yell still running towards Hayden but he is not my worry at the moment, it is Honey. Hayden pauses and watches us run towards him like a stampede. "Don't kill any of them. You take them as prisoner back to Vill's town. I want to deal with each of them. I need to save Honey." Hayden is now on the ground thanks to Miles who must have kicked him in the back of the knees i'm not sure.

"Okay Tyler!" Eal yells as i scoop up Honey from the ground and bolt towards Apple Tree settlement which is in sight now.
Tears run down my eyes. I look down at her limp body her eyes are open in shock, she tries to talk "T-T-T-Tyler?" He voice is soft, she slowly blinks.
"Shhhh. Don't speak Honey, just stay awake don't go to sleep."
"Tyler, I'm cold." A tear runs down her face.
"No, no! Don't you talk like that Honey. Stay with me! You can't die."
