Standing Fleet

I turned my head to the side to acknowledge the clock. It was now coming up to 3am and I still hadn't slept. I had been putting down plans for hours and ordering various parts to be delivered to our home system and I was so close to be finished. "Okay, lets just read over this fleet composition to make sure it all makes sense," I said out loud to myself. I sat back, ran my hands through my hair and then leaned forward again to scan my notes.

DPS: Heavy Missile Launcher - HML Caracal Doctrine (350 ships to be ordered)
Logi: Osprey Doctrine (200 ships to be ordered)
Scouts & Tackle: Interceptors for scouts / fast tackle, T1 frigates if only available (200 various ships to be ordered)

The main bulk of the fleet will be our damage applying ships in the form of Heavy Missile Launcher Caracals. This will include all FCs and squad leaders to conceal the real leader. Our max range will be 45km compared to our previous 85km however our Damage Per Second will be considerably higher. The DPS will anchor to the main FC at a 500m orbit and the FC will manually move the fleet throughout the battlefield -> warping to different pings to gain further distance.

The fleet will be assisted by Osprey Shield Logi who will have the ability to repair friendlies' shields when necessary. The logi FC (yet to be determined) will be have the Logi squad anchored to them at 500m keep at range and they will position themselves 30km away from the main fleet FC. It is imperative, however, that the Logi remain on the opposite side to the enemy at all times to increase distance from them. -> through research it seems that Suddenly Spaceships exclusively run high DPS, close range ships and so keeping out of their range is crucial to our success.

I will assign 2 main scouts with an array of tackle frigates, mainly used by those that cannot pilot the other ships. I will send my scouts ahead to the target system to gather intel before we arrive and anything we need to hold on the field our tackle will move in and Warp Scramble them.

"Perfect, that's the last file completed and ready to take to Sirus." I yawned, standing and stretching upwards.

I plodded over towards my bed, stripping off the T-shirt that was now stuck to my back and crawled on to the bed. My eyes were shut instantly but my mind was racing, so many ideas. "If only they knew how to fly this ship," I thought, "then we could do Raven fleets! Raven fleets are so cool!"

I tossed and turned trying to force my mind to shut down for a moment and eventually fell in to a deep and much needed sleep.

I woke up just 4 hours later, 07:00, like a shot, as though someone had called my name. I assessed my dimly lit room, still illuminated by the spectacular purple sun and jumped out of bed. Today I was initiating the process of change and so I needed to look smart and respectable. I pulled on a pure white, collared shirt and then proudly brought my Fleet Commanders jacket out of the wardrobe and placed it on the wardrobe door.

"I may not be an FC here just yet, but I'm going to show them that I will be." I smirked, as I fitted the jacket.

Change is something that many people struggle with, especially if they have recently gone through a traumatic experience or are not their most confident self, and so I will have to work miracles to shift this bunch. But first I needed to find what appealed to the people; some people like hard facts, some vision and plans, others action or maybe even a combination of them all. What I needed to do now was find out who likes what and appeal to them all. I wasn't just taught combat with Neo and the guys and this was definitely something that was covered in depth.

I strode out of my room and paced down the corridor grasping a small black notebook with the Gallente logo embroidered on the front of it; my faction, they stand for free will, human rights, democracy but are not afraid to show strength or professionalism. These ideals, I have carried with me and they align with my lifelong goal, an unbreakable safe place for all. It's naive to believe everyone can be kind and that people will not want to take things from others and so I strive to create a place that stands strong for the underdogs and shows them how they can show their teeth.
