Colours dashed around the dark spaces inside my head. My brain was racing from the events of the night before. My eyes were closed. I was sleeping, but my mind was entirely active, throbbing intensely with immense pressure. This was a usual event for me whilst trying to sleep. I was shattered from over planning and over acting but I could never fully rest. It was something I was convinced was a result of being a clone. How could something man-made have feelings, emotions and a conscious? I didn't understand and I wasn't sure I wanted to.

I came back to reality. My eyes burst open to a light knock at my door. I slowly paced over to the door and pulled it open. Sirus was standing there in his T-shirt and shorts, no socks or shoes, with a grin on his face.

"Hey, Buck. Sorry to wake you. I know it's late," said Sirus, chuckling strangely.

I looked down at my watch. The time was 03:58. I actually thought it was morning and I had overslept.

Sirus continued, "Buck, I have been reading the files you gave me..." He lifted his arms and shrugged. "They're perfect. Brilliance of the highest order. I cannot put across to you my excitement on your ideas. Some are simple — they make so much sense — but the major plan, so complex, and it came to you overnight... It is destiny, Buck. In the morning, 10:00, we will have another full alliance meeting and you will be presenting these ideas to the alliance." Sirus put one arm out and leant against the wall.

"That sounds great Sirus. I can do that. Have you been reading them all night?" I said, laughing in amazement.

"Yes, I've been reading them, and desperately trying to find ways to better them but I cannot. I fear it has made me a bit loopy working myself up over them, but I have been growing with excitement from the moment that fleet ended. There's lots of work to do, Buck. We better get some sleep!"

Sirus charged down the hall and around the corner out of sight. It was an encounter that I didn't expect to happen so fast. Since I had gained the alliance leader's trust and acceptance of my ideas, it was going to be a million times easier to convince others. But Sirus was right, I needed to get some sleep. Tomorrow was another big day.

I arrived at the meeting room at 09:50. The room was busy but not quite full. Each of the corporation tables had members to them but it was obvious that not everyone had arrived yet. I moved in to the middle of the room assessing who had arrived.

"Hey brother!" came a loud booming voice, as Sirus walked up to me putting out his hand for a hand shake. "Are you ready?" He said, shaking my hand and smiling.

"More than ready mate, today is a big day." I smiled with confidence as I continued to scan the room.

My corporation table was already full. They were all chatting, laughing and were hyped for the meeting. It was a massive contrast from the gloomy, dark, petrified atmosphere that filled the room the last time we had an alliance meeting. Clearly the win against Suddenly Spaceships last night had boosted the Alliance's mood.

I proudly walked over to my corporation table and nodded at them as they acknowledged me.

"Good to see you've all arrived early," I said, shaking hands with them all.

"Well maaaate, what can we say? Yesterday was a big day and today is an even bigger one," Lucas said, cheerily, high-fiving and cheering with the team.

I smiled and looked at them all individually. "Thank you all for following me last night and every night before it. You are all performing brilliantly."

Our touching moment was interrupted by Sirus quieting the room. "Everybody settle down, settle down. We have a lot of things to discuss. I would first like to invite Buck Reece to the leadership table, if you would take your place, Buck," said Sirus, pointing at a space at the main table in the middle of the room.
