Shinso always loved flowers, especially sunflowers. They were just so tall and yellow.
He never thought his own grave would be decorated with them, though. He was confined to haunt the Earth as a ghost.
It wasn't always like this, he was once alive, a living, breathing human.
-------------------------------------------
Shinso took in a shaky breath as he knocked on Ojiro's door. He planned on asking him out, holding a bouquet of sunflowers behind him.
Ojiro opened the door to find a red faced Shinso. "Shinso? Do you need anything?"
"Uh, yeah..." He pulled the bouquet out from behind him, offering them to the shorter blonde. "Would you like to... Go out? With me?"
Ojiro blushed and smiled, gently taking the flowers from the indigo haired male. "I'd loved to, that is, if I get to pay for ice cream."
Shinso smiled slightly. "If you insist, I guess. Friday at three?" Ojiro nodded.
"I'll see you there, cutie." He said before returning to his dorm.
-------------------------------------------
Shinso continued to sob as his blonde dad slowly rocked them both back and forth, holding him in his arms.
"It's okay Shinso, I know things are hard right now, but you have to understand it wasn't his choice to move."
"D-doesn't change the fact he's still gone!" Shinso hiccuped, choking on his own sobs.
-------------------------------------------
Shinso stood on the roof of the tallest abandoned building in his city. It was just one thing to the next.
Abused for his quirk for ten years, bullied for six, homeless for two, assaulted three different times. He couldn't live with the memories anymore.
Tears streamed down his face, but he was smiling, he was smiling a truly happy smile because today was the day he would end his suffering. Today all the pain would stop, it would all go away.
He'd always thought of ending his own life, it was being slapped by Aizawa during an argument they were having that drove him to this.
"Why are you still awake?" Aizawa asked as he walked in Shinso's room.
"Doing my homework." The exhausted boy replied.
"You didn't do it earlier because?" It was clear that Aizawa was annoyed.
"We were training all day, I didn't have the time to do it." Shinso said snippily, he was tired and cranky.
"Watch your tone with me young man. You should have done it during class then." Aizawa said sternly.
Shinso rolled his eyes. "I'm barely passing as it is, if I were to focus on doing the damn homework during class I'd be failing academically."
"You could have done it during your break time."
"And you can leave so I can finish your stupid assignment." Shinso snapped at him.
Aizawa and Shinso continued to argue, the volume getting louder and louder until it was them yelling at each other.
"I am your father and you'll do as I say, get in the fucking bed!" Aizawa shouted.
"I will when I'm done!" Shinso yelled back.
Mic was getting tired of listening to them fight, but knew better than to interfere.
"With how low your grades are I'd be surprised if you did finish it in time!"
"Well if I'm such a failure to you why don't you just disown me?! Some father you are, you should've just let me starve to death in the streets!"
"You know what? Yeah, I should have left your ungrateful ass sitting in that alley! All I've done is work to try and keep you safe!"
"Oh, yeah, because calling me stupid and saying you should've left me to rot is keeping me safe!"
And with that final statement, Aizawa slapped him, hard.
Shinso's head jerked to the side from the impact, putting a hand to his cherry red cheek.
Tears filled the boy's eyes, his mouth gaping open from shock.
Aizawa quickly realized what he just did. "Hitoshi, I-I didn't mean t-"
"Save it." Shinso said harshly. "Get out. Get the fuck out now."
Aizawa left and Shinso closed his door.
And that's how he ended up on the rooftop, his feet at the edge. "I really am pathetic."
He removed his shoes and placed his note under them. "I'm sorry Papa... I'll always love you." Were his final words before jumping.
-------------------------------------------
Mic kneeled at his grave, crying softly. "Heya Toshi..." He sniffled, placing a new sunflower in front of the headstone.
"Sho and I divorced, said he was afraid of hurting me... I'm sorry I wasn't enough to keep you safe sweetie, I'm so sorry."
He sighed softly and wiped his tears. "I got you a little something, something special." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a photo and some super glue.
"I figured you'd want a picture of you and Ojiro together. It's the one where I caught you two asleep in your dorm." He chuckled sadly, gluing the picture to the head stone.
"I also have one of the two of us... Remember when Sho was out on patrol and we decided to do each other's makeup?" He started crying again as he smiled.
He took out that photo as well, gluing it to the other side. He smiled for a few more moments before breaking.
He gripped the head stone tightly, crying loudly. "I've lost everyone Toshi, first Oboro, then you, and now Sho. I'm alone. I'm all alone Toshi, I need you back!"
Hizashi didn't know it, but Shinso gently rubbed his back, crying too. "I'm sorry I left you, I'm so sorry..."
Hizashi couldn't hear him. He sniffled and sighed before wiping his tears.
"I've gotta go, tonight's the finale of 'Put Your Hands Up Radio'... I'll be with you soon, son."
