On the way to pick up Kate, Simon kept saying stupid shit like "Don't go all day dreamy on me when we pick up Kate" I replied with "Shut up dumbass" He just laughed at me
After a few more minutes of driving we got to Kates house. Simon honked a few dozen times and Kate finally got out. "You didn't have to honk so damn much" She got in the car and said she had it show us something. She was holding a box and opened it. It was full of Percs and Vicodin. "Nice" Simon said. I then said "See I knew Beddy would still give it to us" Kate then answered "Yup" as she closed the box and we drove to school.
As soon as we entered the school Kate said "Wanna scare Deena" I retorted "Hell yeah" While Simon just laughed at my answer. We went to go to the girls bathroom hiding the box filled with drugs in the vent. Me and Simon just waited as Kate went to go find Deena.
We heard them walking in me and Simon prepared to jump out from out stalls. Simon would go first then me. "She reaches from beyond the grave to make good men her wicked slaves!" said Kate. Then Simon popped out saying "She'll take your blood!" as Deena stumbled out of fright right in front of the stall I was in. I then suddenly popped out and said "She'll take your head, She'll follow you until your dead!"
"Wow, you guys are dicks" Deena said I was still laughing at how she got scared cause of me and Simon. "It's just fun" Kate replied while smiling and looking at me. I felt my self heat up a bit while we stared at each other. I broke eye contact first due to me about to die of a heatstroke. "It's sick" Deena said not even noticing the little moment me and Kate had.
Simon answered "What? The dude was wearing a Halloween skull mask!"
I added "How is that not fun?"
Deena countered "People died. Heather died. The dude was probably just some sad sack who hated his life, like the rest of us" I awkwardly rubbed the back of my neck with my hand and Simon scratched his back as Deena continued "except he decided, "Hey why don't I get out of here for good?" Kate gave Deena an "You good?" stare as she just kept on going "And hey, why don't i take Heather and a couple other mall rats with me? There's no angry dead witch who made him go postal. The only thing that made him go crazy is this town!" Deena dropped her jacket after she had finished her mini speech.
Simon and I looked at each other then at Kate. I asked Deena "Are you ok?" She responded "Yeah, I'm Fine."
Simon then said "Seems like ..."
I stole a look at Kate real quick only to find she was already staring at me. I smiled at her and she looked away quickly looking back at Deena. I thought I saw her turn a little pink but hey it's probably just my imagination.
"Maybe you got a little witch in you."
Kate, Deena, and I laughed while Simon just smiled at the stupid joke.
Deena then said "Dude, why are you even in here? This is the girls' bathroom"" while I was opening the vent to get Kates box. Simone retorted "Candy Store" as i handed the box to him. Kate was looking in the mirror fixing her hair as she said "You know we don't believe in this witch shit, right?" I added "It's like a fucked up Santa Clause"
To which Simon said "Ho ho ho" and I chuckled
Deena then handed a box to Kate who said "What's this?" Deena replied "I need you to give this to Sam tonight."
"Yeah, uh-uh. No way."
"Come on, Kate!"
"No way, Deena. I am not getting mixed up in your ex drama. Do it yourself"
"Im not going to the game. I quit band"
I interjected "I'll do it" Deena answered "Really?" and had a small smile on her face. I laughed and said "No, i'm just fucking with you" Deenas smile then turned back into a her neutral expression as me and Simon laughed a bit.
Kate said "Was band the only extracurricular you had left?" Deena just rolled her eyes and Kate replied "You still have your band uniform, right? You just wear that shit one last time. I've got something that will give you the balls to face Sam."
Kate opened her box and Deena just stared at her with her mouth open and then said "What? You're dealing again? I thought you stopped after these two dumbasses brother OD'd."
Simon said "Timothy?"
Kate replied "uhmm... Timmy wasn't a real OD. He didn't actually die"
I said "Yeah they brought him back. ja-jing" while mimicking the movements of an EMT. Kate, Simon, and I smiled at Deena.
"You're all morons" She said
"High morons to be exact" I replied while still smiling and Simon and Kate laughed
Kate said "Which one of us is valedictorian, again? President of every club this shithole has to offer. I'm getting out of here. Off to claim my place among the stars, bitch."
Just then a boy cam running down the hallway screaming "Woo! The witch lives! Long live Sarah Feir!" I whistled and Simon yelled "Yeah!" While Simon, Kate and I laughed Deena smiled at us.
