A Promise Unforgotten

Promise?

Its 8:30 in the morning and I have been doing nothing but my school work. Ever since a few weeks ago, school's been really active in my life. Nothing much to do but listen to the teacher and hope for the best. As for my social life...well, I've met a couple of friends, their names were Karl, Sheena, Drake and Angel. Their all somewhat like a group to me. Everytime we would finish school, we would just group up and go to "The usual spot". We just hang out there and eat ice cream together. You know, all those things you guys would normally do. 

*BELL RINGS*

Okay, so the bell rang and I'm off to go with my friends for recess. Oh wait! before that I should probably explain each of my new friends, since you don't know any of them. Okay, Will's a good spirited person, he has somewhat spiky hair, but in a neat, formal way. He has blue eyes and has brown skin. He's the type of person who would insult people in a joking manner and makes a lot of people laugh, even the person who was insulted. He isn't that thin nor too fat. He's actually quite fit. 

Ryan. well....he isn't the most enthusiastic guy I know. He would just look like....nothing. His normal facial expression is...well, go look in the mirror and stare at yourself. That's his most common expression. But once you get to know him, he's a pretty cool guy. He's fair skinned, He has green eyes and his hair is what you see emo's usually have. the long front bangs thing that covers one eye, yeah that one. anyways, he isn't that thin or fat either, he's normal actually. Nothing much different from others. But there's something in him that's really unique from others. Perhaps its his personality.

Isabella. Now she's a really good friend of mine as well. She has long hair, light green eyes just like  Ryan (except I didn't mention it was light), her hairstyle is just...straight, with a little highlights and she rebonded her hair. She's not that tall, which makes her look really cute for her age. But I'm not one to judge. A lot of people had a crush on her, but she had no interest but one. But...unfortunately, we don't know who he likes....for now.

Drake. Now he's really unique, His hair is somewhat emo, like Ryan's, but shorter. He loves to make jokes as well, somewhat like Will. Just not as funny as Will's usual jokes. So he has black hair, Hazel eyes, and fair skin. He loves to read books too. He's normal too. So his body isn't really hard to describe. Just average.

And finally....Angel. She's my best friend (on the girl's list) She's the person who has been pushing me whenever I gave up for the past weeks. When I first met her, we became fast friends. Just like Will and I...except, again...I met Will first since I didn't really feel like talking to anyone on the first day. Anyway, She has green eyes, straight, highlighted hair, but not too much highlight, her highlight is natural so I'm pretty sure you would know how it looks like. Her skin is also fair, She's not that short, average I would say. She loves jokes and she is very trustworthy. She's a bit...tomboy-ish. And  she can somewhat end your life if you really make you mad. But, I don't really care what happens between us. Cause, like....She's always been there. And I know she'll continue to be that kind of person. Iaccept her for who she is. Thats what I know.

So yeah, that's pretty much their personalities and their looks. So Will, Karl, Drake, Sheena, Angel and I went to hang out at the usual spot. We wanted to eat ice cream but no one was willing to buy for any of us. Heck, no one even felt like standing up. We were all tired from school. So we ended up settling things with a good game of rock, paper, scissors. And eventually....Karl had to go and buy for all of us.

My day was pretty stressful. But fun I would say. Although, no matter how occupied I am, I can't forget about Kate....She....She's been in my mind ever since last week. I know I said Angel was my best friend but....Kate....Its different.... The way i feel with others is different from the way I feel about her. People might say that the feeling I have is obviously love but I'm not sure anymore. I remembered how being "In love" felt and this one is completely different from before. They all think it was love when I explained this feeling to them.

"Its obviously love Kyle, maybe this time you're really in love, and that before wasn't true love at all." Will tried to conclude. "Not exactly Will, I mean, there could be a different reason why he's been feeling like that lately." Angel argued "Yeah, whenever Kate's around. That's the only time I see him as red as a tomatoe!" Will joked, Everyone laughed for a while and we got tired of talking about my "feelings". "Hey guys, its getting pretty late, I gotta get going to Kate's apartment, she showed me three days ago so yes, I know where she lives. And with that, I left with a light chuckle.

As I was going to her apartment, I was thinking about all the things I've experienced. I mean, this strange feeling occured every time she's here with me...Maybe this really is love... But I still had doubt that this feeling really is love. I reached Kate's appartment and took a deep sigh. I knocked on the door only to be greeted by her parents. "Good evening, um...is Kate busy?" I asked slightly embarrassed as i came unprepared. "Why no, not at all, she's in her room. Would you like to come in?"  They gladly offered "Why yes, that would be nice." And with that, i went in, walked all the way to her door..but hesitated on the last minute.

"Okay...just go in, and tell her Hi, and maybe you can discuss your matter with her today so you can clear this fog up." I said to myself. And with that, I took a deep breath, and opened the door. The first thing I saw was Kate, reading a book. As i slightly open the door a little bit more open, it made a little sqeak, which pretty much, blew my cover. "Kyle? Is that you?" Kate said with happines clearly in her voice. "Yes its me" I said, and with that, she placed her book down, stood up and went to hug me. I hugged her back and as usual, I'm turning very red. As we were catching up for about 5 minutes, she suddenly brought up a topic. A topic I could never forget. "Hey, Do you remember the "promise" we made to each other?" Kate said slightly blushing "Huh? what promise?' I asked, wondered if I made a promise to her a long time ago.

"Oh...you forgot..But....I don't want to make you feel bad or anything but.." Kate stuttered as she was turning pink...soon to a bright red color. "What? what is it?" I asked curiously "Okay. Well...you promised that.....when we grew up and met each other, we would...be....together.." Kate said as she was blushing very hard now. As i heard these words, they've echoed in my mind for about a couple of times. With that, I lost control of my emotions and started to blush so hard, that I felt like i was giving off a lot of heat. I was sweating and my heart was beating very fast. "I made a promise like that? wait...does...that mean that....we...we....we liked each other before?" I asked her to make sure she wasn't joking. "yeah...but we didn't exactly 'like' each other that time. We were just disappointed that we kept on getting hurt by our boyfriends and girlfriends so we said it was better to be together because we wouldn't hurt each other." Kate explained as she was recovering from the blush

"Oh.....do you still feel the same way for me? now?" I shyly asked as i was very nervous of her reply "Of course I do silly!" Kate said as she slowly went closer and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I was bright red that time and my heart was beating so fast, i doubt it could beat any faster.  "I caught you staring at me a couple times." She said while she gave me a wink which looked so.....so....Irresistable. I was blushing mad that time. I couldn't believe what was happening. And i told her I had to leave cause it was getting late and I had a lot of fun talking with her. "Thanks for everything.. and...I love you Kate...from the bottom of my heart." We were both blushing really hard. "I love you too Kyle." She said as she blew me a flying kiss. I was too nervous to say or do anything so I just gave her a wave goodbye. 

I came back at my house with a huge smile! I couldn't stop laughing and smiling out of pure joy! she had made me so happy, i doubt I could sleep tonight. But I had to. So that I can finish this day and spend another day together. I was able to convince myself to go to bed. And as I was slowly fading to my own world...I only had one thought on my mind. Kate. And with that, I fell into a deep slumber...with only her...on my thoughts.
