After breakfast, we all headed home. We exchanged goodbyes and hugs and we all went our different ways. Once home, me and Louis decided to laze about and watch TV. So, we snuggled up together and watched random shows on the television. When it was nearly 6pm Louis told me to change into comfortable clothes for our date. I also had to wear a beanie to cover my ears. Once we were both ready, we headed out to Louis' car. Once we sat inside and started the journey, I asked him where we were going. "It's a surprise," was all he said, and I groaned. I continued pestering him throughout the journey. After I had asked him about for the twentieth time he said, "Oh come on Haz, it's a surprise and I'm sure ya'll love it. Plus, ya know what they say, 'curiosity killed the cat'." He immediately winced at the choice of idiom and said, "I didn't mean it that way." I just laughed it off and gave up on pestering him.
Not long after, I felt the car stop. I hadn't even realised we had reached and when I looked outside, I saw a large carnival. "Wow," I breathed out. The sight was absolutely stunning with lights brightening up the starry night. The carnival had rides, carousels and snacks. I quickly got out of the car and Louis followed me. He took my hand in his and we entered the carnival. We decided to first head to the carousel because I really wanted to go there. We both climbed upon horses and whooped as the carousel spun. We got the occasional odd glance, and it must have been strange seeing to adults acting like children, but I couldn't care less. After the carousel ride, Louis was hungry, and we decided to get a cotton candy. We decided to share one and while feeding me, Louis put cotton candy on my nose. Of course, I had to take revenge and soon enough, we both had sticky faces. We cleaned ourselves the best we could and headed to the game booths. Louis won in the balloon shooting game, and he gave me the prize which was a huge baby blue teddy bear. I hugged it as we walked all around, playing the carnival playing games.
Soon enough, both me and Louis were drained and so we grabbed some hot dogs from a stand and made our way to the Ferris wheel. As we rose higher Louis leant forward to wipe some ketchup off my lip. All of a sudden, the Ferris wheel jerked and came to a halt, due to some technical issue, causing mine and Louis lips to collide briefly. I giggled at the thought of our first kiss being so strange. I turned to Louis to see his expression. He was smiling at me, and he said, "I was gonna kiss ya at the top and make it real cliché, but I think I kinda liked this. It was a perfect first kiss but unique in its own way. Ya know what I'm sayin'?"
I nodded then, grinned at him and said, "Since, we are stuck here why don't we try that out again." And so, we both leant in for a kiss, this time longer and more passionate, yet gentle and slow all the same. It was beautiful. We shared a few more kisses before the Ferris wheel started again and carried us back down to the ground. Together, we headed back home hand in hand, the entire drive. It was a beautiful first date and it couldn't have been more special. We headed off to our respective rooms, both agreeing that it was too early in the relationship to sleep together. So, with a final hug and goodnight kiss, we both clambered into our own beds and dozed off, exhausted but satisfied.
Did you guys like the first date. I liked the idea of it being cliché and not so cliché at the same time. If you haven't noticed yet, I really love cliched romantic dates!
