"I told you Y/N, I forbid you going back to that place." Her mother was stern, sipping red wine out of a wine glass while staring out a window; staring at the bags which was currently being placed into carriages. She always does this when the women doesn't want to confront her daughter head on,

"It's my life mother. I want to go back. I don't care what you think." The daughter in question argued, ready to take whatever things her mother throws at her.

"I am your mother. Don't you dare speak to me like that, you hear me?" There was a sense of grit in the women's words, scowling at the reflection of Y/N in the pristine clear window.

"I thought 'mothers' were meant to tell their own daughter that they have a brother. I thought 'mothers' were meant to accept that their kid wants to live with their boyfriend" Y/N carried on, the Queen sighed. Bringing the glass of red liquid back to her lips, but not taking a drink.

"I am not a child that will obey you at any given moment any more." The Princess took the silence to carry on. "You can't force me to go there. But when I develop feelings, you threaten war on his kingdom? Are you insane?"

"I want to keep you safe Y/N!" The Queen raised her voice, finally turning to see her daughter, who never faltered. "I don't know what happened over there" She pointed outside the window, not even in the same direction as Manberg.

"All I know is that something made you run away. So I am keeping you here so it doesn't happen again. No ifs or buts. My words are final" She tried to shut the whole conversation down, her tone was filled with anger at the disobeying Princess. But, yet again, Y/N never backed down.

"So what. I'm not allowed to leave? The past rules that I can't step foot out of this home is going to happen again? You are just making me a prisoner, mother. And I'm not just going to stay here so I can clean up the dirty work of this kingdom when the people don't like what you are doing." Y/N stood her ground.

"This is your own punishment, Y/N. It's all your fault this is happening." The Queen found an empty surface to place the half empty glass on top of. "If only you listened to me, then we won't have to be shouting."

It was like a flip switched in her mother's mind, forcing her to be calm. Trying to get Y/N on her side like all those other times.

"I am only trying to protect you from what is out there, my darling." The Royal approached their daughter, but the daughter moved away from any advancement. "Why won't you let me take care of you?"

"Protecting doesn't equal not letting me outside. The carriage is already here and waiting. My friends are waiting for me," Yet Y/N's tone stayed the same.

"You know I love you right?" The Queen pouted, her hand going to hold the others cheek. And it managed to, fo a split second, before Y/N took it off. "I love you so much,"

The girl just looked at the older, before looking away to the brown wood floor boards. "I always have loved you, my Chrysanthemum"

"Don't call me that-" The nickname was brought to life from Y/N's father with it being his joint favourite flower with the sunflower. And once the Queen married the King, she made sure to never say it again. But why was she using it now?

"It's just sometimes you never listen, my child." The mother continued, like what her daughter just spluttered was a different language she couldn't understand. "Don't you want to listen for your poor mother. I need you here, Y/N. Or I don't know what I would do with myself if you left,"

She sounded sincere to the girl. And it hurt. "So please don't leave me. I'll be better, I'll even let you outside once a week if you just listen to me, okay dear?"
The Queen still tried to make advances, and with Y/N staying still, frozen even. The Royal even was able to hold her daughter.
