"Well, what class do you have next?" Mona asks me after we spent the whole class chatting and getting to know each other. Her father was at Harvard and he wants her to go there as well. After a lot of studying Harvard decided to support her. I told her about Columbia and my love to New York. She said she knew I was a New Yorker as I went into class because of what I am wearing. She loves to ride and to play soccer and her favorite music is by Ed Sheeran. I told her about my hobby to play the guitar and sing to it and that I really named my guitar 'Eddie my baby' because that's what I call Ed Sheeran. Our love for Eddie was our main subject in this math lesson.
"I have PE. You?"
"Oh, too bad, I have German next."
"You are learning German?"
"Yeah, my mom's actually from Germany and I speak German since I am little, but I want to improve it, you know."
"I've learned German for five years in a course I was doing! My dad insisted in it," I roll my eyes. "But I'm learning to speak French for the seventh year now, though I start to get really sick of this language. I thought about changing it for, I don't know, two years?"
"Well, change to German, then! We could have classes together!" She squeals, but I remind her that there are only two weeks to go.
"Oh, yeah, forget how old we all are over and over again. How can we go to college already? It's such an odd feeling. Well, I just don't want to get old sometimes, you know?" I can hear her slight Californian accent.
"I feel you. I hate it to grow up."
"What classes do you have after PE?"
"Uhm, let me think.. English, French, Cultural History and Science."
"I have English then, too!" Mona claps her hands and shows off her excitement. If I wouldn't be so afraid of making friends because of Liam, I think we could become really close friends. We just seem to fit. I've never had a female friend. Well, yeah, Chelsea, Cara and Juliet, but since I've been to New York City the last time I consider them not to be my friends anymore.
"See you then, Mona," I wave at her and go to my locker to fetch my clothes for PE.
"Hi April," Eric suddenly stands beside me and stares at me intensely.
"Uhm, hey," I didn't expect him to talk to me, neither to call me April.
"I wanted to invite you to a party Niall and I are organizing. It's on the coast and Niall already said he would take you with him there. It's a one-hour-drive and yeah, uh, wanna come?"
"When?" He really invited me? And Niall offers to drive me there? What have I missed? I mean yeah, he kissed me, but.. Does he like me?
"Friday, he probably will pick you up at nine," Eric murmurs.
"Sure. It'll be fun, I suppose. How many are coming?"
"About fifty.. All senior classes but some don't want to drive there, so a few less."
"Oh, okay. Well, as Niall drives me there, I have no problem with that." I feel butterflies in my stomach whilst thinking of Niall and imagining us in the car.
"Oh and wanna come to the game tonight?"
"What game?"
"The football game? Haven't you heard about it? I'm the quarterback of the team! You must come there! The rest of the guys will be there, too. And you can bring Jack if you want," he says. What the hell?
"Jake," I correct him. "I will be there."
"Okay, see you later," he mutters before leaving me standing alone at my locker, visibly surprised.
