I'm sitting in my room and stare at my phone. How should I ask Jake to come? And why did I even say I have a boyfriend?
"April? What's up?" Jake answers the call.
"Jake, I'm in deep shit."
"What happened?"
“Is it possible for you to come here to Attleboro the next few days? Probably not I suppose." I am so nervous about what he's going to answer.
"If you need me, of course. I'm off from college anyway for the next two weeks," he replies.
"Oh thank god! I kind of told a boy I know from school that you're uhm, that, uh, you're my boyfriend...“
"Why did you do that? I mean it's no problem, but why?"
"He's such a weird boy that is acting all bad and frightening and he has to walk me home every day after school because, uhm, can I just tell you tomorrow? It's actually quite a thing, pretty odd."
"Okay, I'll be there at six pm, alright?"
"Is it possible to come a bit earlier?"
"No, I'm sorry, love, I can't drive earlier than three."
"Okay... Thank you so much, Jake, you have no idea how thankful I am!"
"It's all right, girl," he hangs up and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I am so relieved and thankful for Jake to drive three hours to Attleboro just because I tell a bunch of lies.
I close my eyes and drift. When I open them again it's seven in the morning.
I put on some clothes, usual jeans and a white shirt to it.
*you studied CH already?* Liam's text message is making my phone shining brightly. CH is Cultural History and damn, I have completely forgotten about the test today!
*uh oh! Forgot it totally!*
*wanna copy from me?*
*if it's possible, then YES! Thank you so much Liam! I owe you something!*
*no problem babe*
Why does he call me babe? It's like Niall is writing with Liam's phone. I catch myself smiling while imagining Niall's expression when he sees Jake in my house tonight.
But still, why does it bother me that extreme that Liam calls me babe? He surely doesn't mean it seriously.
I leave the house with an orange in one hand and a slice of bread in the other one. In the morning I'm not really afraid of meeting that creepy man again. I'm still remembering every single detail when I'm going past the place where it happened, though.
*where are you?* Liam writes me again. There are some things about Liam that make me question him. He's hilarious and adorable but sometimes he makes me feel quite uncomfortable.
*on the way to Attleboro High. Why?*
*because Louis my friend is wondering*
*Louis?*
*Lou's my best friend and he'd like to get to know you* Why in the freaking heck is Liam acting like we're a couple already? It's nothing like that, he's been to my place once because of studying and we’ve known each other for three days. It's so weird but maybe people in such small towns are like that, introducing you to their best friends and calling you babe after just three days.
*oh, okay, meet you guys in two minutes*
I still feel unsure about meeting Liam's best friend. Not even Liam and I are good friends, actually not even friends.
