A/N So this is something that took me ages to write, it is 100,000 words in total lol and I am slowly releasing the chapters as I edit them. The book is already finished and will be taken down if I manage to get it published, sorry 😂. I rly hope you lik it as it is very close to my heart and please write any constructive criticism in the comments, but don't be too harsh! I am in school which will preside over writing but I think I can manage both lmao
Enjoy :D
My hair blows across the dock. She stands beside me. Her dark locks tangle with my blonde ones, dancing in the winds. The sky is overcast, as it has been for the few days we've been here.
Last night I read my dad's letter. It was him in a letter and just reminds me of how much I miss him. Never will I ever forget it.
But not quite yet can I write it down. For the moment I think only I can truly see it. I will treasure it and love it and hope it stays with me forever. It was meant for my eyes and my eyes only. It will stay for my eyes and my eyes only.
The dock is a tortured city. I come out here a lot, watching the boats. There's something so poetic about them. Something so breathtakingly sad and so painstakingly beautiful that I can't stay away.
They are broken. Nowhere near whole. Yet they still float, bobbing just above the water. I think, when we do have my father's funeral (which we plan to), it will be here. It seems to stand for all that he did, stands for what he wrote in the letter too.
Never give up.
And I won't.
To no one, the mutterings chime. They sing a song, whisper a poem. A message. One that I will keep, stash, stow away next to my father's letter.
The world is a tragedy.
Buildings are fractured bones; broken on funerals,
The streets are lined with corpses
And the clouds are ashen with hearts
Lost and left and never found.
Yet here in the macabre scene,
Two persons stand.
Without a sister,
Without a mother,
Without a father.
With only each other.
They still stand,
Though they have people to mourn.
Fights to face.
The world is a tragedy
Painted in black and white
But here there is a couple
Written in colour
The world is a tragedy,
It's us that make the sun shine.
