Kadence's Point Of View.
"Kadence, they want to see you in the principal's office." Mr.Hill said as he hung the school's phone up. I sigh, standing up and gathering my things together. I'm getting into trouble for what happened on the bus.
I was talking with my friends and someone decided to trip my seven year old brother when he got up to move seats. It was definitely on purpose and then he fell they laughed. I stood up and punched him in the face. His friend grabbed my hands I kicked him in the balls. I told them both not to mess with my brother again. They said they would view the tapes and figure out who was to blame.
I walked to the office with my bag on my back. My mom was standing there, along with two other parents and the two kids. I walked passed my mom and sat down where the principal told me to sit.
"You guys know why you're here. Your parents have viewed the tapes. You three are all suspended off the bus for one week." The principal said as if he was tired of his job.
"Why is she getting in trouble is what I don't understand? She was sticking up for her brother." My mom asked, very pissed.
"She punched my kid in the face!" One of the parents said.
"She kicked my kid in the balls!" The other complained.
"Shut up." I told their parents. "Your kids were bullying a seven year old." I told them. "They aren't innocent."
"You don't tell our moms too-" the boy didn't even finish his sentence when I glared at him they just shrunk in their seats.
"Being disrespectful isn't going to get you anywhere, Robinson. Take her home, she can come back tomorrow." The principal told my mom and my mom nodded, grabbing my arm and walking me outside.
"Let's go get your brother." She said and I nod. We walked to her car and got in. We drove to the elementary school and she went in and checked my brother out of school. He got in the back and buckled up. We went home. We walked into my our apartment, my moms boyfriend: my brothers dad, is standing in his work clothes in the kitchen, my brother ran to him.
My brother's name is Korbyn and his Dad's name is Tray. Tray is a tall guy, around 6 feet tall. He is black and has brown eyes, and waves. "I came home for lunch what happened?" Tray asked.
"Kadence got in trouble on the bus, she can't get on the bus for a week. Some kids were bullying Korbyn and she took care of it." She said and he nodded. My mom sighed as she grabbed a beer from the fridge.
"Korbyn, are you okay buddy?" Tray asked.
"I'm okay daddy, I'm going to go play." He ran in his room.
Daddy. I wish I had a dad. I wish I knew who he was, I wish he was here.
"Mom, could I ask you something." I asked her, walking into my room and sitting on my bed.
"What is it?" She asked as she shut the door and sat on my bed beside me. "Could you tell me something about my dad? Anything? His name or why he left. Hell, I'd be fine with knowing what his favorite song was or what he does for a living. Anything." I told her. She looked away.
"Kadence, you know I don't like talking about him." My mom stood up.
"I know but I don't even know his name. Mom please." I had tears in my eyes as I looked up at her. "I'm going to be 16 soon. All I want to know who my dad is. It makes me feel sad. Did my dad not want me? Korbyn has his dad."
"Kadence I can't talk about that." My mom had tears in her eyes as she walked out. I wiped my tears away and stood up and waited a few minutes. Before standing up and walking out my room, I walked past my moms room. I feel bad about making her cry but I just want to know. I opened the door and walked in she quickly opened her dresser and put something, what seemed to be a picture, inside it.
"Mom.." I say, almost in a whisper.
"Me and Tray are going to grab some grub, what do you want?" She asked.
"Bacon cheese burger." I told her and she nodded, walking out with her jacket.
"I'm taking Korbyn to the park. You wanna come?" She asked, helping Korbyn put his jacket back on and I shake my head.
"I'm going to stay home. Just bring my burger back before you guys head to the park please." I say, walking into my bedroom and waiting until they drive off. I run into my moms bedroom and look in her dresser.
Under her clothes is a picture of her and a guy, he has short dirty blondish brown hair and green eyes. He is looking at my mom with absolute love in his eyes, she was the one holding the camera. They were standing in front of a black Chevy Impala with huge smiles on their faces. I flipped it over and it said, "Cassie Robinson and Dean Winchester."
The date on the back was about 7 months before I was born. I was born two months early. I took a picture of the front and back of the picture and put it back where I found it and then I walked back to my room. I sit on my bed and look at the man in the picture.
"Dean Winchester." I almost started crying as I looked at him. I look like him. We have similar facial features. There is no doubt about it this man is my dad. I turn my phone off and place it in my pocket after a few minutes and I hear my mom walk in the house.
"Kadence! Baby I'm home! Your burger is sitting on the counter I'm going to the bathroom." My mom said and I walk out, my moms phone is sitting on the counter beside a bag of food. I grab it and put the password in, scrolling through the contacts. I see 'Dean Winchester' I click on it to see the number and take a picture of it. I hear my mom coming back into the kitchen so I press the home button and put it down before she can know what I am doing. I grab the bag and get my burger out of it, sitting on the barstool.
"Me and your Brother are leaving now, are you sure you don't want to go?" She asked, gathering her keys and phone and walking out. My brother must have been sitting in the car.
I put the number in my phone. My heart started to beat out of my chest as I thought about what I'm about to do. What if he didn't want me? What if he doesn't know about me? What if he has a family with someone else? I put all of the thoughts in my head aside as I hit the green call button.
"Hello?" A mans voice answered.
"Hey, is this Dean Winchester?" I asked.
"Who's asking?" The man answered.
