Drifting away.

it's been 3 months since Kaede and Shuichi had started dating.

they haven't talked lately and when they do, it's like they're complete strangers.

No ones POV

Shuichi was trying to finish the novel he was reading. he was at the last 3 pages.

he was just about to turn to the last page until he got a text notification from Kaede.

"oh it's kaede!" Shuichi joyfully shouted.

he tapped on the notification.

"Shuichi. meet me at the park near by my house. we need to talk..."

Shuichi felt a little anxious.

"I hope she isn't mad at me, that would be awful..." Shuichi mumbled to himself.

he didn't want to be late so he put everything he had in his hands down, and he brought his phone and hat.

when he had those, he ran to the front door but he unfortunately ran into his uncle.

"where are you going Shuichi?" His uncle asked as he got a grip on shuichi's arm.

"oh, i'm meeting Kaede at a park. she said she wanted to talk to me." Shuichi answered honestly.

"well okay. be safe out there." his uncle said as he let go and waved to him.

"okay!" Shuichi shouted as he sprinted towards the park.

*a few minutes later*

Shuichi arrived at the park. Kaede was sitting at the bench looking nervous and a little upset.

Shuichi walked over to Kaede and sat down next to her at the bench.

"so... Kaede. what did you need to talk about?" He asked her with a nervous look on his face.

she gave him a firm look in the eye.

"Shuichi.. I think we should break up. we barely even talk anymore. And when we do, it's like we're strangers. I think we'd be better off as friends. i'm sorry."
Kaede looked over at Shuichi. he covered his face with his hat. she gave him a hug.
"I should probably go Shu. My mom always worries about me when i'm gone for too long so, bye!" she said as she let go of him and walked towards her house.

when she left, He grabbed his phone and ran to his house as fast as he could.

*when he got to his house*

when he got to his house, he walked into the living room and unfortunately, stumbled upon his uncle.

Shuichi started to quitely cry and unfortunately, his uncle noticed.

"Hey Shuichi, you okay?" his uncle asked as he walked over to the crying boy.

"I.. I need time alone.." Shuichi mumbled.

"oh.. well i'll check up on you in an hour or so. so be aware little man." his uncle said as he walked to his room.

"o-okay.."

Shuichi then walked to his room, wrapped himself up in some blankets and cried.

Shuichi felt terrible for never talking to Kaede. he felt like a horrible person.

he felt it was his fault they broke up.

so he cried tears of guilt and sadness.
