"Joe!" I waved "Joe!! Over here!" I hollered.
"Brianna?" He hollered back rushing through a crowd of people to get to me.
"I see you! Ba-" I yelled. Before I could get the word "babe" out, Joe picked me up and spun me around kissing me what felt like a million times. People stared at us, but we didn't care. Joe was on an Australian tour for three weeks doing live events, while I stayed in the U.S. with my sister, Nikki. He put me down then proceeded to pick up his carry on.
"How was your trip?" I asked
"Long. Much better now. Happy to be home with my wife!" He answered wrapping his arm around me and starting for the baggage claim.
"I missed you so much." I whispered into his ear.
"I missed you more." He said planting a kiss on my forehead.
Sooner than later, Joe had his stuff and I began driving home.
"Babe, are you hungry?" I asked
"No. Just. Tired as hell. Long flight from Sydney to Los Angeles to Phoenix." He said
"Ew. That sucks." I replied giggling.
"Its alright!" Joe said "I'm home now."
"Sweet! What do you want to do now? Sleep?" I asked, stopping at red light.
"Uh... Gym?" Joe replied. My answer was hesitant, he had just emphasized that he was just on a plane for hours. And he really wanted to go to the gym? Typical men.
"I've already had my daily session of yoga today. You're welcome to the gym if you want, to get over jet lag." If thats the answer he was looking for, I'm sure it was. He just said he was tired. Joe looked at me, he could tell I didn't want to go to the gym. Dammit. Did he figure me out this quick? I thought to myself.
"Then lets just head home. I'm exhausted anyway." His tone was neutral. I couldn't tell if he was upset by my reply or not. Not really wanting to start an argument my reply was a simple nod.
We pulled into our driveway. Joe and I lived in this cute little house just outside of downtown Phoenix. It was my absolute dream house! There was nothing I would change about it. Our small little Honda puttered into the garage and the two of us got out of the car. Joe got to his bags before I could. The least I could do was hold the door for him. He walked into our house, kissing my cheek on the way in. What is the first thing he does? Gets food? Use the bathroom? Puts his suitcases away? Falls asleep? No, takes off his jacket, then falls asleep on the bed. Being the good wife I am, I packed his suitcases for our next adventure, Billings, Montana. Joy. When our suitcases were packed for tomorrow morning. Lazily, I made myself a healthy dinner of, hell knows what. Making sure I left some for Joe. As soon as I finished eating, I crawled into bed and fell right to sleep beside my Joe.
