I woke up and looked to my left, Joe had his shirt off and he was snuggled up under the blanket as his bare back was facing me. To be honest, as creepy as it sounds he has the cutest sleeping face, seeing it made this amazing morning more complete. On my right was the little digital clock reading: 6:41. It took me a minute to adjust to the morning sun and realize, my shirt was off as well. I got out of bed and tiptoed into the bathroom.
As I approached the mirror, I looked at myself. Evaluating my bare back especially. No marks on mine. I glanced at Joe's back still facing me, it was covered in nail marks. Those are there because of me, aren't they? I thought to myself. Luckily, he doesn't wrestle shirtless. A few seconds into my evaluation, I noticed a bruise or two on my shoulder, no biggie,
I probably hit the mat wrong or something. Carefully, I crawled back into bed. Wearing Joe's shirt. Our backs were facing each other. My eyes closed and I dozed off...
When my eyes finally opened again, a set of arms were around me, not in a bad way of course, a comforting way. Lips pressed to my cheek, "Good morning, my love." Joe's morning voice said. His hot breath gave me goosebumps.
A grin came across my face. "Good morning..." I blurted, trying to mimic Joe's tone.
I heard a silent chuckle in my ear as he whispered in my ear once more, "Do you want to stay here longer? Or go on with our day?" Wednesday was always our day off. Since Joe was in a big title picture and with TLC just days away, I assumed he'd have something planned. But I guess today, of all days, he doesn't.
Just to confirm I asked softly, "Is there nothing planned for the superstar?"
"No- Well... Unless you count spending it with you... In that case, yes." We smiled then he slowly leaned down to kiss my hair. I rolled over to face him.
His eyebrows scrunched together as he looked at me, "What is it?" I asked gently.
"What are we going to do today?" Joe said, eyebrows still together.
I don't think either of us had thought of anything to do, we just knew we wanted to do something "Uhm... We could start by getting breakfast?"
"Good idea." He smiled and kissed my forehead again as he rose from the bed. As he walked past me, going to get coffee, I'd realized he was naked. I couldn't help but giggle, because he didn't even notice, "Why are you laughing?" Joe asked, tossing his long hair out of his eyes.
"Babe, look down." I said rolling onto my back, my snickering became louder. Within an instant his face turned bright red.
"Shit. I didn't even realize." He said with his voice cracking as grabbed the first pair of pants his hands touched (which were my jeans, of course). I was puzzled as to why he was so insecure all of a sudden.
"No, no, that's okay, I thought it was totally hot anyway." I joked, still laughing. I rolled onto my back, finding the strength to get out of bed. Obviously I'm not a morning person. When I found that motivation, I hopped out of bed and into the kitchen. I walked into a living room of Joe trying to figure out what pants he's wearing. He realized they were mine and ran back into the bedroom. The only thing I could do was laugh. I made Joe some breakfast, his favorite, eggs over easy with bacon and toast. I poured myself some orange juice and made Joe coffee. I plopped myself onto our little couch in the hotel room and sipped on my juice. He sat at the table, as he normally did, watching me and giving me loving looks as he normally did. I got up and kissed his temple before deciding to get ready for today.
