"You little rascal. You've kept this from us the entire time!"
We're walking back towards the cafeteria while Mica has his freaks out without the watchful eyes of my father.
"Well, not us. E, Dani and Tara know. Oh, and you know Mrs Stevenson? She's my mum." I smile cheekily.
He does a double take. "WHAT!? Why didn't I know!" He looks away wide eyed, running a hand through his hair and down his neck, squeezing.
He turns and glares at Elijah who is chuckling at his friend, hands in his jacket pockets.
"And you." Mica points accusingly. "Why didn't you say anything! You let me run my mouth in front of her dad."
"When you were running your mouth, I didn't know. I found out the night L and I hung out. Believe me, it was a shock to see Coach Hale walking into the house where I was chilling with his daughter, alone, on his couch." He looks away with a haunted look on his handsome face.
I'm walking in between them, blissfully happy with how lunch turned out. I got to spend time with my dad, Mica found out about his Coach and I, plus I know that neither of them are acting remotely how I expected.
Mica glances at me. "You're fucking evil, Australia."
Before we get any closer to the quad and overhearing ears I stop and turn to Mica. "Yes, very evil. The worst. Anywho, I'm glad you know about my parents but," I hold up my pinky. "Pinky promise you won't say anything to anyone. I don't want people treating me weird because I have, not one, but two parents at this school."
He loops his pinky with mine, saluting me with two fingers on his other hand. "I solemnly swear to never give away your secret to anyone... including my best friend, who I now know, where his loyalty lies... with you and not me, his brother." He glares at Elijah, who rolls his eyes.
"Um... by the way. Are you ok? I, ah. Well you kind of ran off on me yesterday and I just want to make sure you're ok?" Mica asked but both of them are watching me intently.
"Yea, I'm ok. He just scared me a bit." Giving them a half smile.
They both look at each other than back to me. "You want to talk about it?" Elijah prods.
"Oh, absolutely not." I touch both of their arms. "But thank you for asking. I appreciate the concern."
Mica nods but Elijah continues to watch me.
Starting our plod through the quad Mica walks in front, while Elijah stays at my side. Ducking his head he peers over at me.
In a hushed voice he gently promises, "You know I'm always here if you need me, right?"
Gazing up at this cute boy, I give him a lopsided smile and weave my arm through his and gently hug. "Yes, E. I know. Thank you."
Placing his hand on mine that's resting on his bicep he stops, turning to face me. Keeping hold of my hand he narrows his brows. "I need to apologise... again." Sighing, shaking his head. "I'm sorry I was a dick the other day, walking away while you told me off. I shouldn't have knocked Taylor. I was just being a je- fool."
Taking my hand out of his I give him a gently punch. "Damn, straight. You stay put the next time I tell you off, you hear." Giggling.
With a lazy smile. "You planning on discipling me again are you, pretty girl?"
I shrug and smirk.
His side grin growing. "As long as it's behind closed doors, I'm fine with that."
