I could hear voices above my head and it took me a second to recognise Gray and Sam. My eyes were still closed and I had arms wrapped around me while I lied on the hard body of who I guessed to be Luke. I didn't need to open my eyes to know it was him. His smell and the tingles running wild over my skin were clue enough.

"She actually said she couldn't be with you?" Sam asked.

I felt his sigh and I assume he nodded his head.

"Why? I don't get it. I've seen her look at you. I've known my sister my whole life and she's never looked at another guy like that. Why would she push you away?" Gray sounded so worried that I wanted to run to him and hold him before making sure he was feeling better.

"You want the truth?" Luke asked before carrying on from a silent answer from my brother. "You. She thinks it'll hurt you if she admits she likes me." I couldn't take the pain in his voice. My eyes fluttered open and I realised we were in a car but I didn't even care how I got there. My eyes found his and he looked at me with worry in his eyes.

I heard a soft sound of a thump and I looked around only to see the seats around me empty. Either I imagined the conversation or the guys left quicker and quieter than possible.

"What happened?" My voice sounded tired. Exhausted in fact. I felt like I'd attempted a marathon without training once!

I looked around to see we were sat in the drivers seat and I was curled up on his lap with my head on his chest.

"You were explaining to me that you don't want anything to happen between you and me. I don't think your body agreed with what your mouth was saying." He sounded so hurt. Almost like it caused him excruciating pain to say this.

"Luke...I'm sorry you had to help me—"

"That's what you're sorry for? You still think you can't even entertain the idea of liking me because of your what brother might think?"

His tone made me sit up from his chest but his hands on my waist wouldn't let me off his lap.

"Hey! I have my reasons and it's not as if you actually wanted anything to happen anyway. We hardly know each other! You act crazy around me! Like I make you angry all the damn time!" He was shocked enough by my outburst that I used the adrenaline starting to pump through my body to reluctantly open the door and pull my self from his lap. When I went to jump down, I lost my footing but he caught me and set me upright again.

"How? How did you do that? You were just in your seat!" I asked and my head started to swim again. He kept doing things that shouldn't happen.

"I have quick reflexes."

"You seriously expect me to believe that's all? There's something big you're not telling me." I whispered. Too afraid that I was right and I was about to find out.

"Why do you want to know? You want nothing to do with me right?!" And Mr Bipolar was back.

I went to storm away but the pain running through my body made me falter. Luke's eyes softened for a second before they looked far away, like he was daydreaming.

Before I knew what was happening, Gray was next to me putting his hand on my head.

"You don't look too good. You not feeling well Dotty?" I straightened my body even though the pain was near to unbearable.

"I'm fine. How did you find the try outs? When will you find out?" My voice was strained but I tried my best not to show the pain. I felt as though I'd been hit by a bus. What the hell was happening to me?

Gray looked at me and let me lean on him. I've never been so grateful to have my little brother be taller than me than I was right now. I was a little surprised with how much of my weight he could take but the only thing I noticed was the worry taking over his face.
