The Madagascar wolf (Canis simensis ferox) - A descendant of Ethiopian wolves that migrated to Madagascar due to the land bridge connected between mainland Africa and Madagascar. They are similar to their ancestors, although they are slightly larger than their ancestors

Behaviour and Ecology :

Like their ancestors, Madagascar wolves live in close-knit territorial packs, but they forage and feed alone on small prey and hunt medium-sized prey in pairs or small groups. They lived in packs consists of an alpha male, breeding females and their offspring

Their diet consists of rodents, birds, pigs, small antelopes, hares and hyraxes

Evolution :

After humans died out, the Ethiopian wolves quickly recovered and spread across the Ethiopian Highlands once more and some began to migrate to Madagascar due to a land bridge between mainland Africa and Madagascar, evolving into the Madagascar wolf
