Today was the D-Day.
I barely slept during the night, I was literally too excited to sleep.

I couldn't stop shaking my leg, throwing glances at the clock.

8:56AM, it was getting closer.

I spent several long minutes staring at the clock, getting worried as time was passing and there was still no sight of Chris.

It was 9:34AM now and I was really starting to think I was the one who got played. Maybe he tricked me and he would never come back, or maybe something happened to him?
I was getting more and more anxious, when finally I heard footsteps approaching the room.

The door opened and Chris walked in. He stepped hurriedly toward me, finally freeing my ankle from the heavy chains.
I captured his lips for a passionate kiss.

-"thank you so much Chris, thank you..."
-"you'll thank me later, babygirl... I'm sorry for being late, but they left a little later than what they said. Now put those clothes on."

He handed me a pair of jeans, a grey tshirt and a black leather jacket.
-"wow you got me some cool clothes!"

We both laughed as I took off the ugly hospital-like dress I was wearing, pulling on these brand new clothes.
He then handed me a blond mid-haired wig.
I tied my natural hair, pulled on the wig-cap and placed the wig on my head. He handed me a grey hairband, as I didn't have time to custom the wig. I put it on the front, in order to hide the lace of the wig.

He handed me a pair of socks and a pair of sneakers, that I pulled on. And lastly, he handed me a small handbag.
-"here you go, babygirl. We're ready to leave."

He reached out to grab my hand, we shared a short kiss in this room for the last time.

I followed him out of the room.

We arrived in a long corridor, there was absolutely no window, the neons' light was the only slight light I got to see in 18 days.

We then climbed stairs that were at the end of the long and sinister corridor.

Chris opened the door that was at the top of the stairs, and he led me out out of this corridor.

We arrived in a huge room. I could guess we were probably in some abandoned building, or something like that. The place seemed empty, there were many graffiti over the grey walls.
This vast room didn't have any window, but I could see the daylight coming from a corner, meaning the exit wasn't that far.

I tightened my grip on Chris's hand as we walked toward the daylight.

We arrived in another room.
There was still no window, but I could see the exit that was in the next room. We were walking hurriedly, but suddenly, we heard a voice:

-"Chris?"

We froze. Chris turned around.

-"Ch-Changmin? What are you doing there?"

I turned around as well.

Then, everything happened so fast.

Changmin spat:
-"I should be the one asking! What the fuck are you doing there with her?!"

Within a few seconds, Changmin pulled out a gun. He unlocked the security and pulled the trigger.
Chris didn't get the time to react, and neither did I.

My breathing got cut, I felt a sharp pain in my heart.
But this time, it was physical pain.

Oh well, I was wrong... Sadly, yesterday was my last night here, but obviously, it was also the last one in my lifetime.

I felt my legs giving up, and the warmth I loved so much keeping me from crashing on the ground.

My eyes were shut, but I could hear Chris yell at the man, crying his heart out.
His hands were pressuring the wound on my chest, in try to make the blood stop from pouring out.

I could feel his tears crash on my face, between his sobs he managed to say, imploring me:
-"please don't leave me... I'm begging you... What will I do without you... Please fight a little more... I'm so sorry, it's all my fault... I'm so sorry... Please forgive me..."

I opened my eyes for the last time, I knew I wouldn't be able to make it, and I wanted to see his features one last time.

I used my last effort to place my hand on his cheek, wiping away his tears that were flowing down.

I smiled softly at him, letting go of my own tears.

I needed to tell him one last thing.
-"C-Chris, i-it's.. N-not your.. F-fault.. I-I l-love.. Y-you.."

We knew I was about to give my last breath.

He stayed on top of me, compressing my wound, crying out like never before.
He leaned down to place a kiss on my forehead, saying:
-"I love you..."

My eyes shut by themselves, I didn't have enough strength left. My hand fell from Chris's cheek, crashing on the ground as if I were a rag doll.

I heard him repeat these three words:
-"I love you..."

And then a gunshot.

I heard a sort of gasp coming from Chris. And I felt all his weight crashing on my body.

Unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to travel the world in this life.
Unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to grow old together.
But we had the chance to meet, if I can say so.
And we had the chance to share our last breath together, even though it was a little too early to do so.

This lifetime wasn't really long, and it wasn't really happy, especially for Chris.
But I liked to think we would be luckier in our next life, that we would be able to travel the world together.

Chris, Let's make this love travel through the time, let's promise to look for each other in our future lives.

Forget-me-not flowers will be the symbol to our eternal love.
I promise we'll meet again soon, Emilia.
